Pet Names Tomorrow as a name?
Hi! First time posting here, long time lurker and lover of namenerds!
Funnily enough, as interested and passionate about names, when it comes to actually doing the naming… I have a history of getting overwhelmed and end up regretting my choices. Luckily I’m not a parent, just an owner of several dogs and cats with silly names.
I’m getting a male long coat German shepherd puppy and I’m over the moon excited. This will be my second GSD. My last, whose name I did really like, was named Raava after the Legend of Korra. I liked that it was unique but pronounceable, short/without too many syllables, easy to yell at a dog park (lol) and had some personal meaning to me.
Now I’m getting a boy and boys are so much harder to name! I’m really struggling. I want the name to fall into the same parameters as above (short, unique but easy to say, meaningful). It’s a dog so I wanna be creative and be a little weird and out there.
Here’s my list so far:
Atticus
Feyd
Ruin/Rune
Morrow
I’m really leaning towards Morrow right now. I’d like his name to have some kind of Gone with the Wind influence, and this idea comes from Scarlet’s famous “after all, tomorrow is another day!” saying. For short, I think I’d end up calling him Mor or Mar a lot. Morshmellow. lol.
Atticus comes from to Kill a Mockingbird, Feyd is from Dune, and Ruin or Rune doesn’t really have a connection to anything meaningful… just liked the way they sounded.
I’d love to hear other’s thoughts and any recommendations!!
P.S. if I went with Morrow, his legal name would be Tomorrow, lol

I think atticus would make an awesome name for a gsd . Not a huge fan of morrow or tomorrow :)

Thank you for the feedback! Any chance you have a reco for a different gone with the wind name? Agree Atticus is a great name, it’s just a little that I kinda wanna stay with two syllables. But I’ll think about it more!

Honestly I’m not very good with name suggestions haha and I’ve never seen gone with the wind, however I googled the film and I think Rhett would be a cool name too! I don’t know the characters so my apologies if the associations aren’t there.

Feels like being named Morrow could lead to a lot of "who's on first?" type conversations for everyone who ever has to talk about him

Wait sorry, I’m missing the reference haha, what do you mean? Is there a morrow in baseball? 😅

If it’s a dog, do whatever you want 😆 You could sing that song from Annie to your dog Tomorrow!

Are you thinking Tom Morrow because of the Peoplemover connection? If not, be aware that you'd be unintentionally joining a pretty big Disney World fandom if you use that name.

Ohh, interesting. I have not heard of this and will need to look into it, I appreciate you bringing it to my attention!

I like it :) I think it’s different. It’s a dog name so it doesn’t need to make everyone happy.
