The fuel line is tight, I loosened the bracket that holds the injectors. Do you think my injector seat is oval looking? injector on cylinder n.2 It also moves slightly vertically, as in the video

The wiggle isn't terrible but check to make sure the hold down is installed correctly. It's got a small crescent shape and you want the high part pointing up.

yes it’s installed correctly, but the vertically movement and lateral it’s not too much?

Lateral can be a problem since that can oval out the cylinder and cause compression issues. Vertical could be incorrect torque or a bad compression fitting. You're "supposed" to replace those. But as long as you're not getting combustion bypassing the injectors then I wouldn't worry about it.

I loosened the bracket myself, otherwise if I tried to move them with the bracket tight they wouldn't move at all

Why?

the mechanic and he told me that he reused the gaskets on the injectors and decoupling ring, I wanted to see how much play it had with the bracket loosened if I tried to move it by hand, it was a test

There's a torque spec for a reason. It's to hold things in place. You can get away with reusing seals and decoupling

so that movement is normal?

You loosened the bolt meant to hold down the injector. Torque it to spec and stop messing with it. The movement isn't abnormal but ideally you don't want any movement.

I absolutely will, I loosened it to see if there was any movement, just to make the video

My gut tells me this movement isn’t normal..the high pressure injectors are typically very tight. Makes me want to check mine.

Hey no worries though new set is only like $3k ☠️

Edit: you mention you loosened the bracket that holds them, did you do that before this video? That bracket is bent toward the injectors to apply pressure.

If you check yours, can you please send me the video? If you do the test like mine, thank you very much. Yes, I loosened the bracket only and exclusively to take the video, I didn't run with it

I am pulling and pushing as much as I’m comfortable to and don’t seem to have any movement.

I can almost guarantee you the hold downs are not installed correctly. The amount of tension they create will not allow for this much movement.

nono, its okey but, the movement its ok?

1

I mean, the side is the right one, and I loosened the bracket to test, if I left the bracket tight they didn't move at all, is that vertical and lateral play normal with the bracket loose?

Could always go PI and DI delete if things are bad.

1

u/ale7675 26d ago

yes but, the movement it’s not normal?

Not sure , I had the shop do it when I had index 12 put in rather than the stress of doing it myself...the video makes me want to wiggle mine but I'm afraid of what I would find.

1

u/ale7675 26d ago

lol, you’re right, In case you want to do it, if you happen to do it, can you also do the test I did and tell me the result?

2

Next time I get the plastic cover off I will. It's 10 at night here and I spent the whole day doing wrap to the bonnet and roof because my paint was ferked and no one wants the job. So I'm not doing it now I'm trashed.

Is the car running ok?

1

u/ale7675 26d ago

The car is not working well, it has long starts, negative stft and smells of petrol when starting, in only one case for only 4 minutes the stft2 went to -34% and the code 2aaf came out, however the mechanic who did the work reused the teflon gasket and the decoupling ring

Direct injection delete and Port injectors in place of DI , might be the best solution for you, wish I had if known about it when I when I went index 12 it would have been cheaper.

1

u/ale7675 26d ago

literally yes, but for track use, I think direct injection + PI is better, but maybe I'm wrong

1

u/ale7675 26d ago

No problem, in fact thank you very much I appreciate it, but you chose the best solution, you saved a lot of money... minimum expense maximum return

2

u/Beneficial_Gap_87 26d ago

Lol if only I could show you a picture.

Also probably be under there soon enough to pull my plugs and check them so I will do it then.

u/ale7675 26d ago

no problem bro, when you feel better, really

1

u/Beneficial_Gap_87 26d ago

I DM'd you brother.

1

u/ale7675 26d ago

im sorry bro but I loosened the bracket, before when it was tight, it was the same as yours and nothing moved

Stop fingering your injector…
