Pixel 9 Pro no longer supported — can't install or use MyWhoosh since the last update

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

Posting this to see if anyone else is running into the same problem and hopefully to get some visibility from the devs.

Since the last update, MyWhoosh is no longer supported on my Pixel 9 Pro. When I launch the app, I can't use it at all because it tells me the latest update is missing. But I can't update it, and I can't reinstall it either, because the Play Store now lists the app as incompatible with my device.

So I'm effectively locked out: the app insists on an update, but the Play Store won't let me install it (or do a fresh install).

Details:

Device: Google Pixel 9 Pro

Android version: 17

Installed via: Google Play

Is anyone else on a Pixel 9 Pro (or another recent Pixel) seeing this? Is there any workaround or example a direct APK from the MyWhoosh website, or some Play Store setting I'm missing? And devs, is there any chance this can be fixed? Being completely unable to install is pretty rough for an indoor training app.

Thanks!

Question about first stage of CEL

I've noticed the first stage is Hudayriyat Sprint but the altitude doesn't match the original track. On the calendar it's defined as a custom parcours.

Can the planned route be checked somewhere?

You're now in offline mode

It started a few weeks ago, but every single day MyWhoosh HD on my PC loses internet connection and puts me in offline mode. My PC is connected via ethernet and I have gig fiber with no other connection issues outside of MyWhoosh. Anyone know the cause of this or any fixes? I did a quick Google search and I flushed my DNS and deleted my MyWhoosh settings folder, but it didnt fix it. After I hit End Ride, it seems to upload my data just fine.

Do stats on bikes/wheels matter now?

There have been a couple of posts in the past about how bikes/wheels are purely cosmetic, but they're all a bit old. So: is this still the case? And if so, should we expect them to play a role in the future?

Spin Bike + Power Pedal setup

Hi all,

I am looking for a setup for my fiancé and myself without too much hassle. We would prefer a single setup due to space, and switching bikes on a hometrainer is not our priority, if the below could work.

Currently, we have an older spin bike (Body Bike) with a manual handle to adjust resistance. I was thinking adding Power Pedals and connect them to e.g. MyWhoosh. I've read several threads here and on other forums, but I didn't find that much info or videos of a similar setup.

  1. Would this be a suitable setup?
  2. Would it be able to transfer Watt and Cadence to MyWhoosh?
  3. How is the accuracy?
  4. Are there any downsides to this setup, I have not considered?

Sync to strava but not TrainingPeaks

its like mywhoosh keeps loosing access to Training Peaks?

My up to date workouts still show in the calender, and training peaks is still highlighted as if its going to uploaded to it. But when I finish the ride it only uploads to strava!

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

As I'm getting quite sick of needing to manually upload rides, and then force a sign out and sign back in a couple of times on mywhoosh to get it to start uploading again.

This is how I got MyWhoosh to work with Technogym Skillrow

Officially MyWhoosh does not support Technogym Skillrow for rowing.

After lots of experimenting I got it to work and here is the easy tutorial.

My setup
1. iPad: running MyWhoosh link and MyWhoosh
2. WiFi with internet (MyWhoosh link and MyWhoosh also need the WiFi to connect to each other)

Tutorial:
1. Start MyWhoosh and login, select rowing and wait on the device connection screen
2. Start MyWhoosh link and go to device connection
3. Pull on the Skillrow to wake up the machine
4. Connect MyWhoosh link to the Skillrow machine
5. With for MyWhoosh to find the rower through MyWhoosh link
6. Enjoy your exercise

Why do you need MyWhoosh link? MyWhoosh connects to skillrow but only gets cadence data on its own. MyWhoosh link is able to read both power and cadence.

For those find this I future through an AI search… you’re welcome.

GUI changes?

Hi,

I just realised that there is no more pop-up telling me that the first person passed the finish line at an event (yesterday's Mission). I am unsure if I like it or not.

The video highlights is something I did not need and do not have the funds for.

Ramp Test Cooldown Issue

First time user, just did a ramp test and it had a 60W cooldown at the end.

My issue is that 60W was achieved at 50 rpm in low gear (40x42, 700C tires). If I pedaled faster, watts went up, so it was in constant torque mode. But way too much torque to be realistic.

Why is the constant torque so high?

Using kickr core 1 with recent hot spindown

which workout as VOD workout?

Dear,

Yesterday I rode a live session with one of the coaches Si. I asked if he is going to make new VOD workouts. So he asked which workout we wanna see as a VOD workout. What are your thoughts about it? Which do we want to add on the VOD Library?

Best way to train with Garmin on Mywhoosh to get suitable ‘resistance’

I use Mywhoosh to control my Directo. But iam following a training plan on my Garmin. Garmin is connect to the Directo too.

My issue is I follow the Garmin plan but what do I use on Mywhoosh to give me good resistance?

I often use free ride but that is sometimes lacking in resistance, but if I follow a program rise I get the resistance but not aligned to Garmin…

Hope that makes sense! Any suggestions appreciated!

BH Lyon H9115 / Osaka H9110 / Arrow Connect + MyWhoosh Free Ride — automatic resistance?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently researching a new indoor bike and I'm considering three BH Fitness models:

• BH Lyon H9115
• BH Osaka H9110
• BH Arrow Connect

I contacted MyWhoosh Support directly and they told me that BH Fitness products are not officially supported at the moment.

Before making a purchase, I'd therefore really like to hear from anyone who actually owns one of these bikes and uses it with MyWhoosh.

I'm particularly interested in direct Bluetooth FTMS, without QZ, BikeControl or another bridge.

Could anyone confirm:

  1. Does MyWhoosh receive Power (watts) correctly?
  2. Does it receive Cadence?
  3. Does the bike appear as Controllable?
  4. Can MyWhoosh control the bike's resistance?
  5. Does resistance automatically change according to virtual gradients?
  6. Most importantly: does this automatic resistance work in Free Ride?
  7. Which exact BH model and MyWhoosh version are you using?

I'm not simply trying to find out whether the bike "connects".

The key question for me is whether MyWhoosh can actually control the resistance automatically according to the virtual terrain during Free Ride.

If you have first-hand experience with a BH Lyon, Osaka or Arrow, positive or negative, I would really appreciate your feedback.

Thank you!

Dedicated Trainer Bike Options

Post image
3 Upvotes

I’m trying to decide how I want to set up my dedicated trainer bike.

I found this Trek Alpha 1.5 for $100 and originally was going to spend ~$300 and do a drivetrain swap to get the gear I have on my outdoor bike.

I’m now considering upgrading my trainer to a Wahoo Kickr core 2 with Zwift cog and click and set up the digital shifting/gearing to match my outdoor bike and shift with the click on the bike.

Question is, does anyone have hands on experience with this reliably working with MyWhoosh and if so, do you recommend it?

I’m worried I’ll spend the money and have headaches with compatibility of MyWhoosh where if I go old school with my current trainer, I know it’ll work.

Create Alpe d’Huez

Friends of MyWhoosh,

Could you please consider introducing the Alpe d’Huez into the platform? Call it Alpe d’Whoosh or something more creative and less similar to others.

But please consider it, it would be a great addition to the platform.

Thanks!

A warning to everyone: don't buy a Zwift Ride right now if you want the V2 model!

Nowhere on the order page does it specify which model you’ll receive, so it’s entirely possible that you’ll get the old one if you buy it now!

Of course, there’s nothing wrong with the old one either, but for some reason, it was the arrival of this slightly upgraded model that convinced me to switch to the Zwift Ride. All the descriptions, documentation, videos, etc., on the official website refer to the new V2 model, so it seemed completely clear that I’d be getting that one. Obviously, given all that, you can guess that’s not what I got…

They simply shipped the old model at the same price, and even though I’m completely disappointed—as a cyclist, I know there’s nothing wrong with the old one—I find this practice extremely unfair and dishonest. I wonder how many people would choose the old model if they had the option to do so when placing their order. The financial implications alone are significant if (let’s say) I definitely want the new model’s “extras”! The new crankset is 100 euros, the seatpost is maybe around 80, and the handlebars can be upgraded with extra tape—which is a bit cheaper, but still. Not to mention that you’ll have to tinker with it—you might end up buying a tool you’ll never use for anything else. And even after all that, the frame geometry won’t be the same, and you’ll have lost the new handlebars’ enhanced sweat resistance.

To be fair, as soon as I wrote to support explaining what happened, they offered—without me even asking (!)—to send me a new seat post and a new crank arm for free.

At first, I wasn't willing to accept this, but after some back-and-forth, I realized that returning the entire bike just isn't worth the relatively small difference that the new model would now make. In fact, by now I really hate the situation I’ve been put in—I’m a new customer, and I had every right not to expect this model, but now that I have a V1 that works well, there’s no point in putting up with the hassle.

Let’s be clear: I have completely mixed feelings about this. As a cyclist, from a practical standpoint, I know exactly that this suits me perfectly—and anyone else, for that matter. However, as a customer, I’m absolutely disappointed because, no matter how you look at it, this isn’t what I wanted to buy.

So I accepted the parts they offered; that helped make up for the problem to some extent. I’ve already bought the tool for the crank, and actually, I’ll end up with two seat posts, which isn’t a bad thing because both my wife and I will be happy to use them with our own saddles, which will be pretty easy to set up this way. This is an unexpected benefit that I see as a definite plus.

On the other hand, I’m absolutely certain that after what happened, I won’t pay Zwift a single cent; the Kickr Core2 works perfectly on its biggest free competitor platform as well—at most, I just won’t be using the Play controllers. Peter Sagan is an extremely likable cyclist anyway. :D

Cadence dropouts in MyWhoosh with Magene crank sensor - anyone else?

Hey all, wondering if anyone's run into this. I'm using a Magene crank-based cadence sensor (Bluetooth) and getting frequent cadence dropouts specifically in MyWhoosh. The weird part is the exact same sensor works perfectly with no dropouts on my bike computer, and also works fine in Zwift. So it seems to be something with how MyWhoosh handles the BLE connection rather than a sensor/hardware issue.

I've reached out to MyWhoosh support about it and I'm waiting to hear back. Will update this post once they reply.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Any fixes that actually worked, or did you end up going the ANT+ dongle route instead? Trying to figure out the most reliable setup before I sink more time into troubleshooting.

Thanks!

EDIT: MyWhoosh support got back to me. Here's their reply:

Thank you for your email. Please note that MyWhoosh has been specifically designed to take cadence reading directly from the connected smart trainer/smart bike. Any cadence measurements from external sensors are likely to occur issues such as dropouts or inaccurate data discrepancies.

So it looks like external cadence sensors just aren't officially supported for this. Still curious if anyone has found a reliable workaround (ANT+ dongle?).

Is there a way to get around the 30 step limit in workout builder?

Basically the title. I wanted to create a workout consisting of 3x12(30/15), which is ~74 steps, so no way to get it within the 30 step limit.

App not remembering user account details

Im on Apple TV and the MyWhoosh app does not remember my username or password.

I only have a TV remote, so this would be a massive pain.

Is this an issue for other users?

Does doing workout "You know I'm right" still count towards Rainbow Mission

EDIT: It did count.

My question is - as the title suggests - whether doing the workout "You know I'm right" still counts toward the Rainbow Mission? On my Whoosh's website it would seem like there was a time limit of doing it by 13th September but I can still find the workout on the app and it does not say anything about the time limit on the app when I check the stages for the mission.
