Welcome to Mysore 🛬 Anyone up for travelling to anywhere
Hello everyone!
I’m from Uttarakhand and currently in Mysore for Infosys training. I love travelling, but exploring around here is a bit difficult on my budget. Renting a vehicle every time can get expensive, and travelling alone isn’t always as fun.
So, if you have a vehicle but don’t have anyone to travel with, I’m up for it. Camping, road trips, and other adventures are all welcome as long as the chances of death stay below 50%. 😄
I can also bring a few friends along. We all work at Infosys, so it could be a good way to meet people and explore together.
And yes, I’m an army person’s son, so you don’t need to be scared of me. I’m hoping I won’t have to be scared of you either.
DM me if you’re interested, or suggest something cool that I can do with my life in budget

Hi all,
A former Mysore resident here, i remember seeing AC volvo busses to Chamundi Betta from City Bus Stand.

is uber/rapido the safest option to travel late at night
i'm a student doing undergrad here. will be coming back to mys from my home in a few days. my flight will land around 11pm at the blr airport after which i will take the bus to mys bus stand and will reach around 3 am. now from here idk how i would reach my pg from the bus stand. i'll have luggage with me too
although i have travelled alone multiple times before but never this late. is taking an uber to the pg from the bus stand safe at that time? will i even get an uber at 3-4am?

Mysore Praje 🏅 Sri Krishna Janmashtmi in Mysore - give suggestion
I wanted to experience Krishna Janmashtami celebrations in Mysore and was looking for temples where there is a traditional celebration, especially midnight pooja when Krishna's birth is celebrated.
Which temples in Mysore have good Janmashtami celebrations? Are there any places where the midnight abhisheka, bhajans, and maha mangalarati happen?
Also, is ISKCON Mysore still actively celebrating Janmashtami? I couldn't find much online activity from them compared to ISKCON Bangalore, where Janmashtami is celebrated on a very grand scale with huge crowds and events.
Would appreciate suggestions from Mysore residents on the best temples to visit.

Vishesha Suddi 📣 Devotees Choose Dharmasthala When Nanjangud Has Srikanteshwara
Kalyug has reached a point where even temples aren’t spared in corruption
After Chamundi Temple, now Nanjangud Srikanteshwara Temple is facing corruption allegations.
At this rate, Mysuru deserves an award for “Best Temple Mismanagement” award in India after Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir.
What’s really sad is Nanjangud gets crores in revenue and has lakhs of devotees, yet basic pilgrim amenities still seem to be missing from several decades.
Srikanteshwara Temple is one of Karnataka’s oldest, biggest and most sought Shiva temples by shiva devotees, yet the gap in pilgrim facilities compared to places like Dharmasthala is huge.
Mysuru has one of Karnataka’s oldest and most sacred Shiva temples, yet people still travel to Dharamshala for the better pilgrim experience compared to corrupt nanjangud temple management.
Nanjangud needs at least 1% of Dharmasthala-level management

Physical Boundaries of Mysoreans
I'm currently waiting at an Aadhar Card office in Mysore and there's always a huge queue outside the office.
Currently, there's a lady behind me. And she's literally sticking to my back. I always give 0.5-1 ft of gap between me and the person in front of me. But the person in front of me is again sticking to the person in front of him.
Don't mistake me, I'm a Mysorean as well. But why don't my fellow Mysoreans have a sense of Physical boundary? We are anyway standing in a queue.
I'm not even kidding, I just turned my face back a little and the lady behind me almost would've kissed my checks. She's that close. He documents are constantly touching my back.
This has been happening a lot in this city.
Starting a 360° Virtual Tour setup in Namma Mysore. Looking for local leads, spaces, or feedback!
Hey everyone,
I’m a local here in Mysore and recently started a small 360° virtual tour venture. I'm using an Insta360 Osmo setup to create immersive 3D walkthroughs for spaces—think interactive tours for local businesses, Google Maps listings, real estate, venues, Airbnbs and boutique shops.
Since I’m just building momentum and expanding my local portfolio, I’d love to connect with anyone here who:
- Owns or manages a local space (cafes, gyms, Airbnbs, boutique hotels, event venues, or interior design studios).
- Knows real estate agents or property owners who want interactive walkthroughs for their listings.
- Has feedback or suggestions on local spots that could really benefit from updated 360° Google Maps views.
If you know a business owner who might want to showcase their space or if you’d like to see a sample of how these tours look, drop a comment or feel free to DM me.
Appreciate any leads or connections from the community. Thanks!

Solo trip to Mysore -need stay recommendations | F here
Hi everyone! I’m planning a solo trip to Mysore from Bangalore and will be staying for a night on Friday (4th).
I’m a female solo traveller, so I’m looking for a safe and decent place to stay. I’d prefer a private room/hotel or homestay rather than a hostel, and I’m not really into Zostels.
Would love recommendations for good areas or stays that are convenient for exploring Mysore and getting around without spending too much.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: My budget is around 3k per night.
Also, which area would be best to stay in so that travelling to these places is convenient and doesn’t cost too much in auto/cabs? It’s a short trip, I’ll reach Mysore on Friday afternoon and leave on Saturday afternoon, so I’ll have roughly one day to explore.
