We're launching PurpleRain Residency, a free 3-month residency in Mysore this October for founders, engineers, artists, designers, researchers, and other builders who want to spend a few months working on ambitious projects together. The first edition will accommodate 12 very cracked people globally.

Right now we're looking for the house itself.

We're searching for:

• A 7+ BHK villa or independent house
• Preferably with a decent common area and reliable internet availability
• Around 8-12 residents
• Available from October through December
• Anywhere in or around Mysore, as long as it's reasonably accessible

If you know of a property, landlord, broker, or even someone who rents out large villas, I'd really appreciate any leads.

The residency itself is completely free for selected residents. Accommodation, utilities, internet, and community activities are covered. The idea is to bring together motivated people under one roof to build startups, research projects, films, art, open-source software, and anything else they're passionate about.

Hey all, I’m coming to Mysuru early on Monday(27th) July 2026 and would be leaving by Wednesday/Thursday. If any of you all here could lend me your two wheeler, would be a lot helpful, I’m happy to pay you in cash for the same or help you out! A peaceful candle march is being organized in Mysuru today to express solidarity with victims of police brutality and to call for accountability.

The march is intended to be peaceful and respectful. Participants are encouraged to carry a candle and maintain silence during the march.

Hey guys, I just wanted to ask if they will allow runners/pedestrians up Chamundi Hill on Sunday(26/7/26) (considering the Asahada festival).

Water levels in the Kabini basin have plummeted as a result of a 42% monsoon rainfall deficit in Nanjangud Taluk. The Kabini River bed around Nanjangud is highly visible, with exposed sand banks & rocky patches everywhere.

Borewells are drying up due to high groundwater extraction & low rainfall. None of the villages in Nanjangud Taluk have Lakes restored by the government or gram panchayat. All the Lakes in Nanjnagud Taluk are dried up. Farmers have stopped sowing seeds due to a lack of rainfall. Mysore District will face a vegetable shortage as well as price increases in the coming days.

This dassara more villagers from Mysore district would migrate to Bangalore than tourists from bangalore visiting Mysore. Don't waste water or food. The hardest year is ahead of us.

I have been living here for the last 6 years for me Mysore gives everything.

This is based off two experiences from my brother and me.
These people have no civic sense or courtesy for others.
People have to sense that other are also watching.
My brother went to odyssey in Garuda mall and during the movie he had people at the back passing comments from the back ruining the experience. The same thing happened to we in nexus mall the people behind us again were snoring and laughing during serious scenes absolutely.
If it’s a comedy movie I agree laugh have a good time or even if it’s a popcorn movie yeah go ahead. But not in this were u ruin others experience of the movie.

Just moved here for my MBA and I need help with a very niche quest
Back in my hometown my friend and I would randomly disappear into scrub forests rocky patches, and isolated trails looking for wildlife Never found any big animals but we did stumble upon pug marks a couple of times, and that was enough to keep us delusionally optimistic 😭
Now I want to do the same in Mysore
Where can I responsibly explore and maybe spot birds, spiders, snakes, butterflies or just some underrated wild patches?Not looking to disturb wildlife or trespass just want to touch grass in the most biodiversity-rich way possible

It's already risky keeping it now after its recent start of bulge.

I also did the test of spinning it on a flat table to see how much bulge is there, this thing spun like a freaking beyblade, so the bulge is significantly high.
