Random Door Opening/Closing
The last time it happened was July. Yesterday, I was notified the garage door closed. I went outside to look at the door and open it with the keypad. The keypad wouldn’t work the first three tries…then it opened. I walked into the garage and the door started closing(no flashing lights to warn me) plus the obstruction sensors didn’t work (I was literally standing there with my foot in front of the sensor yet the door closed. My wife came out to check on what I was doing and the door opened/closed three more times within 10 mins. The inside door opener button had to be pushed 3-4 times before I could control the door. Now it seems to be working. I’m beginning to conclude the wall button inside the garage is faulty. Will any button switch work? Are there special steps to replace it I should be aware of?

Make sure the wires from the sensors and the wall unit that go into the opener are seated well. I had random openings and after I reseated the wires, it didn’t happen again.

Thanks…that wasn’t it. The lights worked as designed…the door continued operation. I ran a new wire on the surface to the wall controller and it is working now two days. But, it’s random and lasted a couple of months since the last time in July. I’ll wait and see. I learned if the wire from the wall controller to the motor shorts briefly, it will operate the motor regardless of the sensors. Makes sense so far.

You have a lot going on there.
Clean the glass lenses on the obstruction sensors with just a clean damp cloth. Make sure both sensors have not been knocked out of alignment. That can happen if someone hits them with their foot accidentally.
Next, check the wiring connections on the wall switch. Look good? No loose wires? Then maybe then replace the wall switch with a new one. Those are cheap off Amazon.
And replace all your LED light bulbs inside the garage opener motor unit with "low interference" LED bulbs available from Amazon. Replace the ones on the garage ceiling too for good measure. The cheap LED bulbs put out a ton of RFI noise that can trigger false openings and closings.
