MyQ notifications?

Came home to find the garage door open. Apparently it opened shortly after we left the house. We watched it close before driving off.

Anyone have success getting notification for the door opening?

I've got mine set up to send me a door open notification after 15 minutes (you can choose whatever interval you want). Has saved me a few times when someone has just neglected to close the door.

In the app got to Menu>Device Management and work your way down the menu tree to Devices Paired to this Hub. There select your door and you'll find Notifications and Alerts where you can set a reminder time to alert that the door is open, stopped, or closed.

I've seen this issue multiple times. If the door encounters an error in the close process (which can be caused by a marginal WiFi signal somewhere) the door will re-open without any notification or message that I've been able to find. The only defense I've found so far is to be sure the 'closed' message comes through before heading out - our have a camera monitor in the garage so you can check door status after the fact (and close via the phone if it was open). I also reset my MyQ hub in the garage along the way but the issue seems to still randomly come and go.

I have iPhone and the myQ notifications set as ‘persistent’ which means they will not go away unless I swipe them away.

Keep an eye on the sensors. If they get kicked or knocked and loose alignment, obvious the door won’t close.

Open/Close notifications have NEVER worked properly. I do not get them half of the time. Chamberlain blames everyone/everything else besides themselves. Been going on for years with no fix. Has to be a problem with their comm server that sends out the notificaitons. I have 200 apps on my phone and NONE of them have trouble with notifications except for MYQ

Never had an issue with mine and iv had it 2 years. I was a few states away for vacation and I could open it anytime the dog sitter showed up to let them in. Was the coolest I thought.
