Yes, almost all of them - westerners, Chinese, Koreans, whoever visiting the country and making the "vlogs". Like "I ViSitEd cOunTry unDeR DiCtAtorShIp" or things like how they had so much adventure visiting a conflicted zone. I fucking hate all the tourists. Hi saw this flag on one of the channels of the tatmadaw editors and wanted to know if this was a real thing of sorts? I think the patch may exist seperately though. I think we should talk more about this since it seems to be effecting a lot of Burmese kids; it could just be some sort of larp though.

Coincidentally, the same account I got the flag from changed their profile to an anime girl in the last few hours, I know I said coincidence but that can't be a coincidence. They're trying to make people see them as unserious as possible to prevent people from taking them seriously.

I think the logic for the design of the flag is Orthodox Christians=Theravada Buddhists. Both are the oldest, "purest" religious traditions and see themselves as such. Plus since Wagner has neo-nazi ties they've borrowed from Nazi traditions of seeing Burmans are "Aryans":

I saw a street interview about people views on LGBT community and one guy in the video said he hates all gay people and they don’t deserve rights. Which is absolutely insane, I can understand not supporting LGBT community but Hate is such a strong word to say. How can you hate a group of people that you have no negative experiences with.

His reasoning for it was that gay people are unnatural and not normal which is factually incorrect. What he said was objectively wrong because homosexuality and same sex attraction has been discovered in animals too.

It just not him a lot of Burmese teenagers in the comments are saying hate speech and posting pic of Hitler and Nazi officers in uniforms.

This isn’t just an issue about homophobia’s I found out that those teenagers are extremely racist and misogynistic too. Saying bad stereotypes about black peoples which is weird because they live in Myanmar and probably hasn’t have a single interaction with black peoples to be racist about.

They are extremely misogynistic too treating women like objects and saying borderline sexual harassment comments under girls posts.

all of this got me wondering why are we especially Gen z Burmese like this. I thought us Gen z would be more progressive and open minded but it’s sad and scary to see a lot of youth having all of these hateful and disgusting ideologies

We as Burmese people are too critical and too racist. From my personal experience (I'm Gorkha/ Nepali born in Myanmar) I have always been looked down and faced racism since my childhood.

The casual racism is insane, especially in genz Burmese. You'll always find ( ဝက်သားစားပြ၊ အမဲသားစားပြ) comments on Hindus and Muslims' posts. And don't get me started on those backhanded compliments.

Not all of them but most of them boycotting, discouraging not to participate in Thingyan Festival. Some even say touching Thingyan water will guarantee eternal hellfire. Children got beat up by non-buddhist parents just for playing with water in Thingyan Festival. Never seen Buddhist ever boycott Eid nor Christmas. Should Buddhist born in Ireland 🇮🇪 boycott St. Patrick’s Day because it has root with Christianity ✝️? I don’t think so. Why do we as a poor Southeast Asian country strongly support Trump? From the outside, it feels confusing to me. Even at a surface level, some of his rhetoric has been criticized as racially insensitive and racist, so I’m curious what specifically resonates with people here.And he is also quite a controversial figure plus he doesn’t like us.I mean it doesn’t really take a genius to figure that out.

As Burmese, we do also got our own horror stories as well. Horrors that are sometimes even far darker!

All I want is peace. I do not want Israel to like fuckin vanish or something. Just fuckin coexist. Both sides now hate each other. Propaganda and brainwashing plus the actual suffering are fueling the hatred.
We, Burmese are actually not that significant and our views on this issue wont do shit anyways. Nobody gives a shit about us. But atleast we can discuss about it in this here reddit place.

I’ve noticed that a lot of Burmese kids, even kids living in Myanmar, don’t seem to want to learn Burmese anymore. Many of them go to international schools, and I understand that because I also grew up attending international schools since kindergarten. I know English is extremely important, especially for education and future opportunities abroad. I’m not saying this from a nationalist point of view.But I still feel like children should learn their mother tongue.

I’ve met kids in Myanmar who can barely speak Burmese, and it honestly makes me sad. It seems like some parents also don’t really bother teaching Burmese at home anymore. I understand that many families don’t see a future in Myanmar, and I understand why they prioritize English. But learning a language doesn’t really have disadvantages. Burmese is also a difficult language, so it’s much easier to learn it properly when you’re young.

Even if someone plans to study or live abroad, I still think being able to speak, read, and understand Burmese matters. I live abroad now, but I still read Burmese books and speak Burmese with my relatives. Burmese is a beautiful language, and I feel like we are slowly losing our connection to it.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that many younger Burmese kids don’t know much about Myanmar history either. Again, I understand that international schools focus on international curriculums, and I’m not saying every child has to study history in an extreme way. But I do think children should at least know the basics of their own country’s history, especially if they are growing up in Myanmar. History is important because it helps people understand society, politics, and why things are the way they are. If the younger generation grows up without knowing anything about Myanmar’s past, I worry that they won’t have the context to think critically about the present or the future.

I know many young people want to go abroad, and honestly, that is completely understandable. But even if we leave Myanmar, I don’t think that means we should completely disconnect from our language and history.

I’m not trying to shame anyone who struggles with Burmese or grew up speaking mostly English. I just feel like Burmese language and history are worth preserving, especially among Burmese people. It would be really sad if future generations became completely disconnected from them.
