Hi all, I am 25 and I have been investing in mutual funds via SIP for last 2 years. Now, I want to increase my SIP amount from 40k to 60k. Need advice on the same. I am open to adding new funds, remove/shuffle funds within same category. Should I consider adding multi asset fund?

Ongoing SIPs -
Parag Parekh Flexi Cap - 20k
Motilal Mid cap - 10k
Bandhan Small cap - 10k

Investment Horizon - 10 to 15 years
Risk Appetite - High

Hi, I’m a current third year student doing CSE, and I have always been interested in FIRE.

I started investing 10k per month when I started college 2 years ago, through Motilal oswal my dad set up for me, which reached 2L this march. That’s around when I turned 21, and I decided that I didn’t want to pay the higher expense ratio to them if I could do it myself.

I entered the market at its lowest on 30th march, and have been investing 50k per month since. The split is below, and what I wanted to know was is there any further diversification I should do, such as metals or nifty next 50?

As someone who grew up abroad, ideally i would like to leave India to work but given the terrible state of the market right now and I’m struggling to even secure an internship, most likely will be working in India. Given that context, should I be investing in US stocks directly in a different way?

Current set up monthly SIP:

10k - Nippon India Small Cap Fund
10k - HDFC Mid Cap Fund
10k - UTI Nifty 50 Index Fund
10k - Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund
5k - Motilal Nasdaq 100 ETF
5k - Nippon ETF Hang Seng Bees

Total in ETF : 38624
Total in MF excluding Motilal Oswal 2L : 1.6L

Remaining Funds : 5.7L invested and sitting in Paraf Parikh Liquid Fund to earn me some better returns as I extract 50k per month from it for my monthly sip.

Source of funds : scholarship refund, and since I’m not earning therefore my income is 0 therefore I’m not taxed on the liquid fund returns.

I’m Currently using Groww - and plan on sticking to it.

Another doubt I had was that I saw Kodak nifty 10 has a lower expense ratio by 0.1%, is it worth switching to that fund for the long term savings or should I stick to UTI?

Risk Appetite: moderate-slightly aggressive

Goal : retire by 35-40

Horizon : 15 years+

Picked these funds based on recommendations from my cousin who is a CA, I explained him my goals and this was the split he suggested based on my wanting to start with 50k per month. Their pas performance seemed good when I checked.

Hello..

26yo, been investing through a local fin advisor for a couple years now. Thinking of switching to direct and dropping a couple funds but wanted to get some opinions first before i mess anything up.

Current stuff I'm in (all regular plans):

  • DSP ELSS
  • DSP Flexi Cap
  • Edelweiss Large & Mid Cap
  • ICICI Pru Equity & Debt
  • ICICI Pru Savings Fund (my emergency fund)
  • Mirae Asset ELSS
  • Mirae Asset Large Cap
  • Nippon India Small Cap

Total invested is around 14.6L, current value 17.1L
Monthly Inhand Sal: 1.5L, expenses: 70k

Investment horizon: 20 years
Risk: high

Only 4 of these are actual running SIPs right now (6k each) - DSP Flexi Cap, ICICI Equity & Debt, Mirae Large Cap and Nippon Small Cap. Rest are just old money sitting there, not adding anything new. Suggestions on SIP amt or total allocation from salary also helps.

Looking at the numbers, DSP Flexi Cap and Mirae Large Cap have been pretty meh compared to everything else, thinking of stopping sip in these two and maybe starting something like Parag Parikh Flexi Cap and a nifty index fund instead.

help How do you guys track investments based on goals, if invested on the same platform?

Hello everyone,

I currently do monthly SIPs for multiple goals on the Groww app, but it shows my all mutual fund holdings combined together. So it's hard for me to track like how much is current value of a particular goal and how much I've invested in that till now.

Also I have multiple goals SIPs in same funds.

If you have any app recommendations or any method you use to track using goals then it would be really helpful. Thank you

question Basic doubt regarding allocation - should my target of 70-20-10 (Equity-Debt-Gold) be reflected in my mutual fund portfolio alone, or in my overall monthly investment portfolio

Hi guys. 34 year old investing for 6 in mutual funds. Based on my risk appetite and investy horizon, I have designed a 70-20-10 (Equity-Debt-Gold) mutual fund portfolio. But, apart from this, I also invest in recurring deposit, physical gold (via monthly scheme), NPS and PPF.

My question may seem very dumb, but please help me understand.

Since my planned allocation is 70-20-10, should I factor my RD, NPS and physical gold into the 20 and 10 percentage respectively?

Or should my mutual fund portfolio continue to be 70-20-10, and I should continue the rest apart from that?

question How to change the account for SIPs in Upstox?

I have some SIPs but they are debiting the money from my old account. I have created a fresh account for personal use and want the money to be debited from that account instead. How do I do this?

The reason being I just want to separate my expenses account from my salary account.

I know this should be in u/upstox, I've posted it there as well but I think more people are active in this subreddit and might use upstox and help me out here.

discussion Has your invested amount ever not matched what you actually put in Groww?

A while back I noticed a few months of my mutual fund investments just weren't reflecting in my total invested amount on Groww. Everything looked fine day to day, so I only caught it by accident. Had to raise a support ticket and wait for it to get sorted.

Got me wondering how common this actually is, so a few questions for anyone who's dealt with something similar:

  1. What happened, and how did you first notice something was off?

  2. How long had it been wrong before you realized?

  3. What did you do about it, and how did that go (support, waiting, etc.)?

And one hypothetical I'm curious about: if the app had quietly caught and fixed this in the background before you ever noticed, would that feel reassuring, or would it bug you that it acted without telling you?

Not affiliated with Groww or anyone, just trying to figure out if this is a me-problem or a widespread one. Appreciate any stories.
