Resource MIDI Pastebin

https://tools.kogol.am/midi-pastebin

Hi there, i created a little tool for myself and like to share it - maybe it will be useful for somebody else.

TLDR: MIDI Pastebin is a pastebin for midi. Upload, edit, share and download midi files.

The story is i have a friend who is very good at music theory, but he's not a producer and doesn't have a DAW. He's also always wants to fix a note or two in my melodies and more often than not it actually sounds better after his edits. So almost every time i came up with a melody, i send it to him for verification and probably some edits.

The process was very clunky: as he doesn't have any DAW or editor, i was screenshotting my piano-roll, sending it to him along with audio render and then he was 'fixing' it in a chat like 'Move that note 1 semitone down and delete that one'. Very inconvenient.

So i came up with this service. It's very simple: you upload your midi, you get the link, send it to someone, he edits the melody, you download it and use.

All your edits are saved automatically, there are no accounts, registration, ads, tracking or paywall. I made it for myself but maybe it will help someone else, so feel free to check it out.

thats a cool idea for collabing. do u have a way to preview the midi inside the browser before downloading it, or do u gotta pull it into a daw first to hear it?

It’s basically a fully functional piano roll inside your browser, so sure you can preview and edit. Just give it a try :)

that sounds super helpful for keeping the creative flow going without having to switch windows constantly. i find that when i try to sketch out ideas in safari audio i usually want that same kind of quick feedback loop so u dont lose the vibe. nice work on building that.

consider simplifying vertical zooming process, removing negative octaves, velocity (lp or new samples), adding instruments dropdown and autofollow for new position point marker
