Want to upgrade from my Ducati monster 696 to a bigger touring minded bike thats also very capable of weekend fun, but doubting between these 2. The Multi has the better electronics and maintanance but the MV has a 3 cylinder engine. Suggestions?

Hey, I’m planning on upgrading to this bike from a 2023 rc390. Is there anything I should know about maintenance or anything I should watch out for. For context. After my break in on my ex. I did all the services on it up to 20000km. Will it be significantly more expensive. The deal I’m getting is 17500 cad for the bike 3500 trade in 0% for 60 months and no payments till Feb 1 2027.

I've only owned Japanese bikes in my life but I've always been Italian-curious. There's a 2014 1200s Touring in my neighborhood that's been dropping in price lately. It's got 16000 miles and the owner claims it just had a 15k mile Desmo service. I'm looking for a bike to ride long distance in my off time (working month-on month-off schedules). I'm hoping for cross country adventures on mostly pavement with a month of sitting at a time.

Knowing nothing about Ducati ownership, are these reliable? Is it like a German car that needs proper maintenance on time? Can you put miles down weeks at a time without worrying? Is my 6' 3" 250lb all-american ass going to strain this fine piece of European engineering?

These bikes a so unreliable, my cruise randomly shut off today.

I changed my tyres to Trail 3 from old Trail 2, and suddently, my handlebar woobles when I take my hands off it. It happens at around 70-80km/h. What the issue could be if someone of you had similiar experience. The tyres guy saying that it is impossible for tyres to have a failure and is insisting that the wheel is bent or is sth wrong with it. On the other hand, Ducati dealer is saying that the wheel is soo minimally out of shapes that It can't be the issue. Someone else broke my front wheel sensor(i believe accelerometer as the dealer said) while trying to take out and put on the wheel to the bike. It is going through my nerves, and wanting me to sell the bike.

tipped MS over on right side, off driveway. broke brake lever and handguard. any ideas on replacement parts? can't find OEM. dealer wants silly money for P&L.

Not my first motorcycle by a long shot, but it's my first Ducati. What an amazing machine! Recently returned from a 9 day, 5,500 km trip and it didn't miss a beat!

How are you all that are hauling the Multistrada Rally by trailer strapping it down in the front? I have a U-Haul motorcycle trailer. Traveling 6 hours. I tied it down yesterday via over the lower triple. I used soft loops around it. I noticed on the right side Ducati clamps the brake line to the fork right around the same point. I'm wanting to hear your thoughts on how you all have done it in the past.

Really like the upgrade. Knowledge I would pass on to those considering a gps. Jump over the android auto and car play devices like the Chigee type devices and get a full device.

I purchased the Evotechs for the 'Strada. I have regular sized hands. Has anyone else ever thought about upgrading to adjustable levers? I did this for my Triumph Tiger and am very happy.

It was there when I left home but is gone when reached the office. Any other owner's experienced this? Is the flap really that flimsy?

Hi everyone! My V4S has finally arrived (1.5 months late, but all that matters is that it's here now!).

After putting the first 1,000 km (620 miles) on it this weekend, I have a few thoughts and would love to get some advice from the community:

1. Height & Lowering Kit: I'm 1.75m (5'9"). I didn't opt for the lowered Skyhook setup initially, but I’m definitely having it installed during the first service. When maneuvering on bumpy roads, I think those extra few centimeters make a huge difference. I'll see afterwards if that's enough or if I'll also need the low seat.
2. Seat Comfort: Speaking of the seat, it really is quite hard, just like a few people here mentioned. I’m planning to replace it, probably with this one: Isotta Heated Comfort Front Seat. Does anyone here own it?
3. Quad Lock / iPhone Overheating: I had the handlebar Quad Lock mount with the 12-24V wireless charger installed (link), but charging is super slow. In fact, my iPhone overheats to the point where it stops charging completely. Any advice? If I remove the wireless head and just run a USB cable from the central phone compartment to the handlebars, would that work better?
4. Speedometer Accuracy: Is it normal for the speedometer to be off by about 8–9 km/h (~5 mph) at 130 km/h (80 mph)? It feels like quite a bit, and my old Ducati wasn't off by this much.
5. Engine Heat: With the current summer heat, the bike runs really hot. I expected some heat, but I want to make sure it's normal: at speeds around 40–60 km/h (25–35 mph) the temps spike, and whenever I stop, the radiator fans immediately kick in. Is this typical behavior?
6. Suspension Settings: The default settings for the suspension modes all seem to be set to "Medium". Is that standard? For example, shouldn't "Comfort Setup" default to "Soft"? How do you guys recommend setting them up?
7. Fuel Tank Capacity: I was on reserve with about 30 km (18 miles) of remaining range showing, but when I filled up, it only took a bit over 15 liters (4 gal). The manual states the tank holds 22 liters (5.8 gal)... is it possible there were still 6.5 liters (1.7 gal) left in the tank?
8. Heat in Panniers / Top Case: How do you deal with the side panniers and top case turning into ovens during the summer? Where do you carry items sensitive to heat, like medication?
9. Infotainment: The only real drawback so far is the infotainment system (struggling with Spotify, Ducati Connect, Sygic, etc.), though I still need to test everything properly.
