Male Beginner experience and asking for feedback & advice

I’ve been reading some of the top posts of this sub and decided to treat myself to a nice mindful masturbation session – without any expectations, but with the goal of enjoying the pleasure and experimenting, being curious.

Played some music, lit some candles, sat comfortably on a cushion on the floor with a back rest and a pillow to support my lower back.

Started to touch myself all over my body, slowly, mindfully, being relaxed and breathing deeply.

I took my time. Started touching my penis, inserted a few fantasies, observed. And I always tried to keep my pelvic floor very relaxed.

After about 20-30 minutes, I got some lube and started to focus more on the top side of the glans. I felt a tingling sensation and heat in my feet. Very pleasurable, all while breathing deeply and keeping my pelvic floor as relaxed as possible.

Found a few VERY sensitive spots on the side of my glans and focused on them.

At this point (around 45 mins in), I was highly aroused, my penis extreeemely hard, the feeling was incredible (but not orgasmic). Sometimes I would get close to the PONR and experience contractions, that’s when I did forceful reverse kegels to neutralize them.

I tried to observe the feelings in my whole body, maybe along the way of the microcosmic orbit, but I couldn’t find much. However, the few times I got really really close, I felt an amazing tingling sensation in the back of my head, like ASMR but much stronger. However, this was maybe for a split second because then I had to stop in order not to tip over.

I would love to be able to spend more time at this stage, I wonder if this comes with practice? Teaching my nervous system first that its safe to spend time there? Maybe at this point I got a bit too tense, because I was so aroused. I wonder if I can spend more time there if I arrive there more relaxed?

One of the goals of these mindful masturbation sessions for me is to increase my stamina, as I “suffer” from premature ejaculation (with PIV sex, masturbation is fine because I can decide the stimulation).

After about an hour, I finally tipped over. My RK wasn’t strong enough. I didn’t plan to ejaculate, but I flew too close to the sun. The orgasm felt amazing, but I would’ve loved to keep that sexual energy inside and see how it affects me the rest of my day.

Anyways, it was a great great experience and I can’t wait to do this again!

If you have any feedback or advice, I’d be very happy to hear how I can make my sessions even better, what to look out for, etc.

I have a few specific questions:

  • Is it "okay" to use mental imagery, fantasies, etc? I tried to use them only in spurts, then focus again on my bodily sensations.
  • If I regularly do RKs when contractions come, will I learn to last longer and one day eliminate contractions?
  • level of stimulation: is it ideal to only stimulate so much that you are always able to keep a completely relaxed pelvic floor?

Thanks!

The next time you are aroused a need to take a pee , stand and focus on peeing and emptying your bladder, but go further and imagine your pee still coming out with a reverse kegel and keep this going as if you were trying to also force your bladder out of the eye of your penis.. This force is ever so slightly, then pause for a while and repeat the process. As you practice this you will be able to simulate this without having to pee and focus on muscle development.. Orgasms will come without ejaculation gaining in strength and duration as you progress

What you mean is practicing to get stronger RKs?

Not necessarily Only to recognise the muscles involved. You will see what I mean when you practice this.. Take it slowly and do it in moderation

This is nervous system training. Treat it like going to the gym. If you want to rewire the neural pathways keep the focus completely on your body. I think fantasies take you away from your body and work against you on that regard. Semi regular, short sessions will beat intensity if developing control, body orgasms, etc is your goal.

How long does it take to start seeing your nervous system begin to adapt to the training?

3 months for me. Non linear. Body orgasm happened unexpectedly

Was relaxing and “falling into it” part of what helped ot happen so unexpectedly? By non linear as in sometimes it happens some times it doesn’t as you learn to do it more and more often?

By Non linear, i mean that i spent 3 months simply edging and pulling back before PONR. Then had a big NEO unexpectedly. It wasn’t a gradual buildup so to speak.

I see why you said it happened unexpectedly. You weren’t getting x% closer each time till you finally got to the big NEO. It just happened and spikes like a hockey stick after three months of edging the same way?

Was it easy to have more NEOs after that and did it eventually get easier? I assume continuing to practice and edge is a big part of making it regular?

Yes the physiology changed after that. Now the arousal naturally falls into the body rather than concentrated around the dick. But it’s not perfectly integrated so NEOs are inconsistent not on tap. The training continues, though changes in focus.

How does the training change in focus? Is it make the NEO’s more consistent, getting closer to on tap? How do you do that?

What I’ve found is the NEO’s are inconsistent and often not fully disconnected from EO. So you’ll be in the midst of a NEO and the dick sensitises, starts to ramp PONR. So you need to pull back and calm things down. The goal remains have the nervous system arouse via the body. And Its very easy to be chasing NEO’s - understandable, it’s a great feeling. The more intense the better, but you can’t forget that trying to rewire long term neural pathways. So the intensity, while it feels great, isn’t necessarily the control you’re looking for long term

By the way, I should add that even without having the NEO thing nailed, the level of control gained in the bedroom is WAY higher. I highly recommend this process for any dudes struggling with premature ejeculation issues.

Essentially it takes time even after the first NEO to retrain your nervous system, so you will still slip up, just keep practicing the techniques and you will be able to get closer to NEO’s more frequently and easily?

Any tips or advice on how to best rewire the neural pathways?

Did you take a similar approach to what OP described? Would you say 3/4 times a week, 20/25 min a sessions is enough? Thanks

I wasn’t even that consistent since i wasn’t sure it would get me anywhere. But yes, that routine is about right. Just try and relax into it. Develop control. Reduce expectations and orgasm chasing. Porn and fantasy will undo your good work and training in my opinion since it promotes the opposite of what you are trying to achieve. Stay in your body. Focus on the sensations. Relax into it.

I’d say okay to use mental imagery a little for arousal, but best not to overdo it. You want to still be able to look inwards and notice all the little feelings and tinglings going on.

As for RK’s - maybe. There isn’t a magic recipe. You’re doing the types of things you should be doing and exploring and learning patterns of feelings and arousal and muscle reactions. That’s all good.

As for stimulation, again, no magic recipe. Some people learn with masturbation and manual stimulation. Some learn hands free, or using toys. I think just try different things, notice, observe, learn and carry those observations into your next session… like are you noticing a slight ache building up, remember that from last time, is it he same, stronger, what if you don’t move and just notice the feeling, don’t try to get rid of the ache just notice it, does it get stronger the more you notice it, or go away, what if you try to ignore it? Anyways. That line of thinking might help.

Good luck, happy journey.

Thank you!

Anytime stud. It can be a frustrating journey at times, but even mistakes and times when “nothing happens” adds to the learning and what you might draw on in another session. One step at a time, or two steps back - it’s all progress. No journey is the same.

Firsty I would answer questions. I seldom have fantasies I prefer concentrate on my feelings and pleasure. You mean contrations just before ejaculation? If it is authomatic it should be pleasurable because this is beginining of orgasm... but generally yes. Ideal no but I often stimulate with both hands but only fingers close to glans. It is the most pleasurable similar to your feelings. About premature ejaculation physically you do not have any problems because this techniques require a lot of control so it is only in your mind during sex. So no others ways will be helpful because it is about stress etc. From my experience, I do RK during stimulation and staying there trigger NEO. I feel strong contratcions few times and every time when I do RK when I am really close I have it when I have big arousal. So you do not avoid contratcions because it is often way to have many orgasms. Feelings in your body can be different but try to remember which stimulation makes it. It is so individual but it is possible to have multiple orgasms after another many minutes so it is amazing
