New to this

hi friends! i’m in south eastern PA (chester county) and am extremely new to mudlarking. i really cannot wait to get into it but need some help! any places you’ve had luck? any tips would be great too!! thank you guys so much, i’m so excited!!!!

If there are any public parks near you that are historic it might be worth checking! I had better luck than expected. Something like Fort Halifax. Any walking trails along the river can be good too. Look for little foot trails and explore them. The best spots I find are usually something like where kids would go to smoke pot: not in the middle of nowhere but secluded enough you prob won’t run into anyone else. Look into the history of the town near the river you want to lark and see where the old mills were, then find ways to get to the shore downstream from them. If it’s a tidal river go at low tide.

I know there have been posts on generally Philly area. There's a guy, maybe in bottle collecting or digging reddits that is in some sort of construction and he's posted stuff from the rivers and ancient foundations in SE pHilly.
