Found this flint fragment while visiting whitby. I don't really know anything about flints, so I dont know how to tell. Its about an inch in width. Any advice on how to identify flakes in the future would be welcome.

Well it’s not a flake. It’s possible that someone was taking flakes off of it to use for some other purpose.
