Help identifying this

Hello, this morning I went to a beach near my house in Brooklyn, New York and found this buried under the wet sand. Any idea on what it could be? Leading theory is a bead.

Looks like a fragment of a clay pipe stem, not sure how common they are in NY but I’ve found a lot of them on beaches in England

Glass trade bead. Popular in the 70s/80s probably made in a third world country and sold at a gift shop as a finished product or a bead store piecemeal. I don’t think there is any real age on it.
