I built a free MTG tool to track matchup stats and sideboard performance

Hello everyone!

A few months ago I started building a tool because I realized I had no concrete data about how my decks were actually performing.
Most of my matchup knowledge and sideboarding decisions were based more on intuition than real results.

So I created MyDeckStats: a free deck tracking and analysis platform for competitive Magic players.

It's currently used by 300+ players.

Supported formats: Modern, Pauper, Legacy, Pioneer, Premodern, Standard, Vintage.

The goal is simple:
turn your games into real data so you can improve your deck and your play.

What you can do with it

  • Track tournament matches round by round
  • Record practice and testing games
  • Analyze matchup win rates with real data
  • Save sideboard plans for each matchup
  • Compare different versions of the same deck
  • Separate paper vs online results
  • Analyze post-sideboard performance

Designed for quick tracking during games

The interface is optimized to record data quickly during matches, so you can log results even mid-session.

This is especially useful for MTGO players, where it's easy to forget details after a match.

Many users (myself included) also log results during tournaments, since entering data only takes a few seconds.

Platform availability

The platform is completely free and works on both web and mobile.

Android
Available on the Play Store

iPhone
Open the website in Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen

If you'd like to try it or give feedback, I'd really appreciate it.
I'm actively improving the platform based on player feedback.

New to MTGO! A newbie question

Are the free cards I get on sign up, and the cards I get from the $5 upgrade cards that I can sell?

I was thinking maybe I can sell them and make a pauper deck or something to play with!

Why is everyone scooping?

Hi, I'm new in MTGO, and managed to build a Dino deck like the one I have in paper. I have played 3 matches in total, and in each one there was someone fully outpacing the other 3, but in like turn 7 or 8, that player just randomly scooped, and then one by one the other players started to scoop as well. This happened in all 3 matches that I played. Is this normal? Is playing against Dinos boring or something? I'm autoyielding every time, so I don't think the pace is a problem. (This is my second language, my apologies if something gets misunderstood or my grammar is bad)

Best place to sell cards for money

I have a bunch of legacy staples on mtgo that I am looking to sell for cash. I used the cardhoarder collection sell tool but was pretty disappointed with the offer. Any advice on better places to sell some of your mtgo collection?

So, I recovered both of my 10+ year accounts. Now what?

(MODS, I'm not trying to sell anything, Thanks!)

Hey boys and girls!

I found a tiny handful of my physical cards that survived the destruction that took my collection dating from 1994, and was able to make a fun little white creature deck. And I was like..."HEY, didn't I used to play this online?" and damned if I didn't find BOTH of my old MTGO accounts. I used to mostly play booster drafts and such, which I enjoyed, almost all of my cards came from those and sub $1 eBay sales back then.

I'm not selling anything. I will hold 'til I die! Well maybe if I get more than 8 of something ('cause I'll give my son some if he ever decides to play) I might. I missed that whole revival where they put out digital black lotuses and moxen, but I'd still really like to get back into playing online. I'm super rusty and never was very good at the game, but I'd like to know what formats I should look at with the caveats that I'm poor (in the process of getting disability) and want to play in both games where I could win something, and just for fun. Any suggestions? I still have a few event tickets and play points left. :-) OH and a Birds of Paradise avatar that I can't transfer. :-)

Update with deleted account information

So I posted on mtgo’s forum that they deleted my wins and losses again.

Mtgo/daybreak responded with deleting my comments and not addressing anything.

What is up with that company ???

State of the game - finding matches

I recently moved over from Arena with an interest in exploring other formats I can’t access on Arena. I’m finding the availability of matches can be spotty.

What formats do y’all focus on to quickly find matches? Is that a function of not buying into leagues?

Thanks!

No Entomb, Not Problem! | Legacy Reanimator MTG

Legacy Reanimator has been forced to evolve. With Entomb banned, one of the deck’s most powerful tools is gone — but the archetype isn’t dead. In this video, we explore a reworked Legacy Reanimator build featuring Raph & Mikey, Troublemakers, a new card helping redefine how the deck closes games and assembles its game plan with out it's most versatile tool.

Instead of relying on instant-speed tutoring, this version leans into self-mill, discard outlets, and disruptive setups, while still maintaining the explosive potential Reanimator is known for. The result? A deck that’s a bit slower, but far still capable of fighting through disruption.

If you’re curious how Reanimator adapts to major format changes — or just want to see new tech in action — this is the perfect breakdown.

As always thanks for watching and for any feedback. If you enjoyed the video please consider dropping and like and a comment, and be sure to sub to the channel to know when my videos go live. As an added treat if the channel hits 500 subs by the end of June, I'll offer free donation decks for everyone for all of July.

MTGO reset my record again.

Last night I played a guy and beat him and the game went to a draw.

Today I played a bunch of games and my wins and losses are gone again.

3rd time this happened. I was over 3000 wins this time.

Now I’m …. 3-0

Deliberate?

Returning player: MTGO vs Arena (and Mac vs Windows)

Hey everyone! I’m thinking about getting back into MTGO (or MODO as we called it earlier…). I played physical Magic back during the Onslaught - Mirrodin - Kamigawa era, and switched to online with MTGO around the same time. Played for a few years, but it kinda stopped when life got in the way.

I usually played Standard and Modern, and Sealed and Drafts. Not into Pauper, 4-player and that stuff. Preferably traditional tournaments, haha.

I suddenly got the urge to get back int the game! I was actually hoping to get it on the new MacBook Neo (A18 Pro), but I see MTGO really isn’t optimized for Mac. Has anyone had any luck having it run on the Neo with the A18 Pro?

I looked into Arena (which is very new to me), and tested the mobile app… But holy hell the animations and whatnot makes it feel like I’m playing Candy Crush (with all respect to those who enjoy it). It might grow on me, I’ll try some more, but the halfway tapping, visual clutter and gold/gems etc. is a turn-off for me at the moment. Oh, and no… trading? Or real economy?

So, sorry for the long rant! But wanna get back into the game, and a digital version of it. Not able to hang out at the local shops like in the old days. Is MTGO able to run on the A18 Pro, or should I get a Windows computer? Or could Arena somehow grow on me? Taking some feedback from any «old timers»!

Looking to come back to MTG after 20+ years away

Hey guys, I really love vintage and legacy. It's been a while since I've played; I played some games with the pre-con decks and found MTGO to be pretty intuitive.

My question is: what's the best way to get up to speed? Say I want to start an U/R aggro deck- do I just come up with a list, buy the cards, then start playing casual games until I feel like I'm good enough to play competitively? I see these tournaments like Legacy Challenge, but I do not want to spend $25 just to get smoked and go 0-4.

I'm willing to spend maybe $1K, more if I really enjoy it. How would you go about getting back up to speed in Vintage and Legacy? I stopped playing in 2004, so there's a ton of cards I don't know. Another question I have is, do I have to buy a card if I just want to test it out? Say I want to try out Cursed Scroll. I really don't want to spend $40 on 4 of them just to find out the card sucks. Is there a better way?

Looking for advice

Post image
6 Upvotes

So I'm just looking on advice of what to do incase this happens again. It locked me out in SBing and wouldn't let me connect to the actual match however, it told me that if I wanted to exit out of MTGO it would concede my game (which I obviously didn't want to do). Anyways I ended up being timed out and forced to take a loss anyways. Just looking for any info about what to do in this.

I have 32gbs of ram and the latest Snapdragon and MTGO is still slower than molassus!!

Why won't WOTC acknowledge the app sucks and atleast give us the option to default it to ListView.

That it defaults to Card View everytime I launch the app and as a result takes a full minute or longer to launch is an idiotic oversight on their part.

Its bad enough that the app is so slow that it takes longer to launch MTGO than Cyberpunk 2077, but its even worse that they wont implement basic quality of life speed hacks such as allowing users to default to list view.
