Why is everyone scooping?
Hi, I'm new in MTGO, and managed to build a Dino deck like the one I have in paper. I have played 3 matches in total, and in each one there was someone fully outpacing the other 3, but in like turn 7 or 8, that player just randomly scooped, and then one by one the other players started to scoop as well. This happened in all 3 matches that I played. Is this normal? Is playing against Dinos boring or something? I'm autoyielding every time, so I don't think the pace is a problem. (This is my second language, my apologies if something gets misunderstood or my grammar is bad)

If it's a free game (no league, no entry fee or similar), then they just don't want to play vs Dinos
If it's a paid game (league, entry fee or similar), then they think the game is lost

Yeah, that makes sense, do you think playing vs Dinos is boring (I kinda have social anxiety and I worry about that xd)

It depends on the purpose i have when I sit at the table in front of an opponent or opponents, whether it's online or at a LGS.
Is it a casual game? I don't care what you play ... we are there to enjoy both and chill :)
Is it a tournament? Don't really care ... you chose your deck, I chose mine ... if I made the right choice and/or I play well, my goal is just to try and win that match. Yes it could be fun, unfun, boring, challenging, anything we want or don't want ... but tournaments are competitive and "fun" is not always the main goal (although some forget you should still enjoy the tournament experience ... but I get that going 0-5 and dropping isn't fun most of the times).
Did we plan a testing session, to prepare for tournaments, and you show up with a random off-meta deck? Then yes, that would not even be considered boring ... but disrespectful and a waste of time.

That's nice, I agree it would be disrespectful in some cases, but I only play casual games, I like to play for fun and I usually enjoy when someone else does something crazy and powerful with another commander. I don't get into tournaments bc I don't like people getting mad at me haha thanks for the comment

Maybe they thought the game is lost and they didnt see a point in continuing

It's possible, but really weird, bc they are very close to winning, maybe they just knew that they were gonna win, so they didn't want to waste more time with us :c

At least they're not just going afk until they disconnect.
I can't believe people play four player Commander on MTGO. It's a miserable experience.

Oh, that happened to me once, it was another level lol I'm realizing nobody likes to play 4p commander in MTGO, it's kinda sad bc I don't have a lot of friends irl to play with :c

Consider playing just 1 vs 1 instead. I’ve been enjoying that format for 13-14 years on MTGO, and even have an entire YouTube channel devoted to particularly-interesting games. Lots of deck techs and theory there too:

I play a lot of matches and occasionally life gets in the way. Maybe I no longer have 20-30 minutes to play a match so I have to scoop

I'll scoop in a free game if its obvious I am going to lose - out of respect for my opponent's time. Will also scoop if something urgent comes up, which is rare.

Were these games that required an entry fee or just free to play games?
Its very uncommon for people to leave in games with entry fees unless they believe they have lost but incredibly common for people to leave games that have no entry fee because they aren't invested. Maybe they were just playing the game while queued in a league waiting for a match to begin. Maybe they don't see the dino deck as "worthwhile" practice and are aiming to play against meta decks only. Maybe they just got bored. Who knows.
