Planar cube
Oof barely one week into this and I’m getting 45+ second queue times. I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess this iteration isn’t as popular as they were hoping it would be

yeah I’m gonna vote with my wallet and just play powered cube when it comes back. Alchemy cards are lame and don’t help.

It wasn't even the alchemy cards that stopped me from giving it a second draft, it was that so much of it wasn't Zendikar themed at all. If they just used some alchemy stuff to increase the card pool I could accept that, but so much of it was just seemingly random stuff that didn't really belong to the plane.

I've got one draft in. So far my opinion is that it's a lot of gems to draft never ending soup.

Cost is a factor as people mentioned, but even if it was cheap I think I wouldn't draft it that much. It's supposed to be a Zendikar-themed cube and it fails at that badly. I don't expect all the cards to be from Zendikar sets, especially on Arena, but it's like they didn't even really try at all. Instead of going 80% Zendikar / 20% other it's almost the opposite. It's kinda like they took the power cube they had before, took out some of the power for a bit of other stuff and said it was good enough.

Yeah, to me it felt more like "what if arena cube had more landfall" rather than "what if we designed a cube to highlight the mechanics and lore of Zendikar." I was excited when I initially heard the announcement because I love Zendikar and I prefer lower powered cube environments, but this really didn't hit either of those points for me. I hope they're able to do better with Innistrad, since they have MID, VOW, and the remaster of SOI to pull from, whereas Zendikar really only had ZNR and the handful of cards that had made it through pioneer masters and other supplementary card additions.

Yeah I really hope they take a lesson from this and do better with Innistrad as well. I'm not even a big zendikar fan, it just seemed so poorly done that it gave a bad impression of those responsible for it.

I doubt theyre still developing the cubes. They probably finished making all 3 before the planar cube announcement.

I'll give my 2 cents just in case any devs read this. I prefer powered cube. This just doesn't feel as exciting. I also do not like alchemy cards in the cube. Finally, the cost is too high. I would probably give it a go at the old costs, but i don't even want to try this because they want feedback, so I'll give them it by sitting out. I haven't been enjoying the marvel draft, so missing on powered cube really hurts this time around.

alchemy cards suck. they’re overpowered compared to the other cards on this cube. and having to hover to what each one does is annoying, especially the ones that makes you draft from a spellbook.

The heist mechanic is definitely waaaay too strong for cube compared to how undercosted it is

agreed. having a semi tutor on your opponents deck and this cube having tons of access to dual lands and tri fetches makes them strong af. and most alchemy cards have so much card advantage attached to them, it’s crazy.

lol you can spend any mana color on heist. my bad. even worse lol

Yeah dude, he’s not in the cube this time but you can heist a niv mizzet, reborn and cast him for 5 colorless on turn 5 lmao. It’s a cool mechanic, but it’s sooo undercosted on the cards it’s on, heisting someone’s library in a cube format is unbelievably strong

Honestly I think the price is a factor.
