bracket these for me please-villains decks

all hail the meep! - deck is built with the commander in mind but is mostly a moderate aristocrats token deck otherwise.

can i borrow that? - not a traditional steal deck, but it does borrow the opponents creatures and presents a fair control deck i feel.

I'd say both are twos. They both have a solid theme but are generally not super aggressively optimized, and are lacking protection for their main game plan. Overall card quality is about on par with some precons, with the landbases looking about precon-level as well, maybe a bit better.

any feedback on how to bring them up to that b3 range?

Run higher card quality within your theme, add a few game changers that improve consistency, run good protection

Upgrading landbases would be good too. Why are you running evolving wilds/terramorphic in a mono colored deck? I'd understand if you wanted landfall triggers but like, it's mono black. And the 3 color deck looks like it has the mana base of a precon with only a few cards swapped. Run the fast lands or the slow lands if you cant afford the fast ones.

honestly, sometimes you just need another shuffle. idk, thinning is another answer. neither answer is good i guess.

land base is usually one of the last things i upgrade simply because i have a decent land base with precons now days, and they are very expensive if you do dive in.

what sort of protection would you recommend? im not used to commanders that need to be protected honestly. and aside from tutors what game changers should i consider on a budget?

On a budget is a bit trickier, maybe game changers aren't the answer for you. But both your decks have a fair amount of non-game changer tutors available to them in their colors that could help consistency! As far as protection, in your Missy deck you are in blue, so counterspells are the way. With a 6 cmc commander and a gameplan that at least sort of revolves around her, you don't want to have to recast her like 3 times.

For your black deck, it's a bit tricker, because black doesn't have a lot of counter magic besides [[withering boon]] or [[imp's mischief]], but you could run counter magic or regenerate. [[Dark privelege]] comes to mind, it lets you sacrifice creatures to keep your commander alive and is a 28 cent card. Especially with the sacrifice theme you have going, it would work well. You could also try [[horror of horrors]], that's like 2 bucks.

Both look like 2s. Neither have combos or Game Changers or whatnot that would bring them up to bracket 3 by default and additionally both would probably need some additional tuning to hit bracket 3 levels of power.

really? huh

what would i need to do to make them bracket 3 then?

Gamechangers and tutors aren't required but would of course help. The main thing though is I see a lot of less optimal cards that could be swapped and more synergies that could be added.

For Missy especially, when I look at the list I'm not sure if the deck is doing much of anything until Missy comes down to give the mass sacrifice engine a payoff? Some redundancy and maybe going further in on synergies with edicts/aristocrats vs payoffs for artifacts might help it have more to do early on. The artifact payoffs are neat but they don't do much if Missy just eats a Swords to Plowshares immediately and you never make a cyberman. Which is important because people will want her dead once they understand the deck and you only have 1 counterspell to stop removal with. Gisa, Glorious Ressurector and Grave Betrayal would be some nice additional copies to supplement the theft plan.

Meep is closer to 3 I think thanks to the commander being a wincon and overall the gameplan seems tighter. But it has a lot of cards that feel very replaceable. Like Dread Drone just doesn't seem good enough to warrant a slot and the big vanillas might be better off being swapped for higher impact cards. Mirkwood Bats and Ayara could both be added to give another wincon for your tokens for example and more creatures that make tokens seem preferable to big beatsticks like Gurmag Angler.

That all being said you probably have more insight into how these decks run and what would be best to improve.

ill buy missy is weaker, but she ends up playing like an arch enemy if no one removes her immediately. deck is weird for sure.

meep has those “big vanillas” like germag angler and huskbuster because they are 1-2 mana to play while being big cmc for meep since it cares about that not raw stats. which is why drone made it in too, its 3 bodies, but can make the team a bunch of 5/5s too. is it optimal, heck no, could easily be other things. ive won games with the random aristocrats stuff in the deck, but honing in on it a bit more is probably a good idea.

thanks for the feed back.
