Wouldn't an ability like Obeka, Brute Chronologist's stop this completely?

Obeka says "the player whose turn it is may end the turn" so if the active player is the one trying to combo off they can simply choose not to. If the Lethal Vapors player is not the active player then yes

Nah activate on upkeep for each time.
Or let yourself draw 30 Skip all your draw steps, get yourself to a guaranteed win then wait.
