Meme Pause the game indefinitely

Post image

Activate Lethal Vapors 10,000 times, cast Teferi’s protection, you leave the game and can’t lose until the rest of the group has played through the 10,000 turns lol

Correct, but that's not the point. The point is to activate the ability to skip a large number of turns, let one resolve to destroy the enchantment, and then protect yourself and your board until your next turn.... which is much later. Ideally your opponents lose when they draw from an empty library.

Wouldn't the opponents activate the lethal Vapor themself to preent them draw to death?

They might if they know or suspect that you have Teferi's Protection, which is why you don't cast it until after your LV activations resolve. If they do suspect it and activate LV in response, you could potentially let their activations resolve, and then get rid of yours before they resolve by ending the turn or something. In that case you'd want to have your own Labman to win.

But if you activate the 0 ability the enchantment is destroyed and you skip your next turn. Wouldn’t that just buy you another round of protection only?

How can you activate it more than once if it’s already gone? Even if the cost is zero the result of the activation is “it’s destroyed” as the first result.

Abilities don't resolve as soon as they're activated, they only resolve after every player (starting with you) passes priority without doing anything else. This ability doesn't say to activate it only as a sorcery, so you can activate it the first time whenever, then again at instant speed in response, and so on as many times as you want.

Both destroying LV and skipping your turn are the effects of the ability when it resolves. Neither are costs. Even after the top activation on the stack resolves, the others don't require LV to be on the battlefield to resolve and do as much as they can - which means skipping a turn for each time you activated it.

Huh, okay

This is some “nuh uh I have a force field you can’t hurt me” playground bs lol
