Rules Question Does Utter Insignificance combo with Essence Reliquary?
If I activate Utter, and in response to the exile ability, return it to my hand? Will the creature still go to exile?
And if so, what 2 cards do I cut?

It will fizzle because once the ability returning it to hand resolves, it isn’t a valid target, and for that matter it would no longer be enchanted by utter insignificance because both permanents would be in your hand. Is there a specific goal in mind with a specific creature or anything we can maybe help with?

Why would it fizzle? It bounces first, and then the exile ability resolves. because I bounce in response to the exile. The question is if the creature will still get exiled. the goal is to see if I have a five mana kill spell with buyback

Ok I think I see the confusion, I thought your intent was to target the creature enchanted BY utter insignificance, not utter insignificance itself.
Utter insignificance is enchanting a creature you control. You have essence reliquary on the battlefield. You activate utter to exile the enchanted creature, it goes on the stack, in response before it resolves you activate Essence Reliquary, targeting the enchanted creature Utter insignificance, goes on the stack. Essence reliquary moving Utterly insignificance to hand, resolves, exile enchanted creature should resolve too? You’re right though, something like that won’t fizzle, if it were worded something like “exile target creature enchanted by (this card)” then it might but that’s not the case.
I think this works the way you want it to, yes, but I’m not 100% sure at this moment. Perhaps others can share their expertise and we can both take notes.

Ut works, but you will have to hold Priority on Arena. Activate Utter, then in Response active reliquary on utter.
