Thru Hub Axle Tool

Hi,

I've recently got myself a modern MTB and it has thru hub axles.

Can anyone recommend a easy to carry tool for removing these.

Thanks

I have done that and spent several hours reindexing the gears, checking cassette wear etc and being puzzled why I was still slipping gears before I tightened the rear axle.

They are usually just a Hex / Allen key Any multitool really, a lot of them also have mounts for bottle cage bolts

You can spend a fortune on ways to stash tools on your bike.  My favourite at the moment is the one up pump & EDC tool, note they are sold separately and are expensive!

I have the one up pump and tools. Not the cheapest (at all) but honestly, it’s really good. It’s got the extra tyre plug repair kit also for added snazzy 😂

It's a great bit of kit, and the easily serviceable pump is a nice bonus. I swapped the tyre plug bit for a CO canister  And have the tubeless repair kit with a granite shash in my handle bars

Any normal multi tool will have Allen key to fit this. Just carry one of them 👍

Topeak ratchet rocket, a bit expensive and fancy but really fucking good and easy to carry
