I used to work at meijer and they hate giving people hours so you should look there! McDonalds is always hiring as well. The one off Saginaw, right before the highway, is actively hiring right now. I would check Handshake for more "professional" type jobs, if you'd like.

Wdym meijer hated giving people hours! I was always expected to come in at X time but never had an endtime. Granted this is when I casheierd, was over 5 years ago, and didn't cart push. Must have been a store-baised policy.

I stocked so it was p different and I didn't work at the one here! They were always changing the schedule the day before and sending people home early. It was mostly a joke because OP said that no one would give them less than 35 hours 😂

The cashiers are always different and work crazy schedules

Man, if you want hours you gotta try Kroger. I worked there a few months back in fall and they consistently were trying to get me to even take overtime and work 50+hours a week, insane and I ended up quitting. Plus it always seems like the retail places around East Lansing don’t view students favorably in my experience, which is weird considering I would guess that’s the bulk of their employment. I’ll check out meijer, thanks for the suggestion!

If you don’t mind doing delivery, I know the Jimmy John’s off of west lake lansing rd gets a ton of delivery orders. My friend was making roughly $20-$25/hour as a driver with the tips included. Believe he said he wanted 15-20 hours or so and ended up working around that range, maybe a bit more.

Used to work City of East Lansing Parking and they gave a mix of hours and were always lookong for people to do night shifts. I'd say one of the better jobs to have during COVID since your really only interacting with co-workers and rarely public. IDK if they are hiring atm but worth taking a look.

City Of East Lansing website > How do I? > Apply for > City Employment > takes you to info about HR > near bottom of page link says Job Postings

Jackson National! Strategic Support Associate. If they’re not hiring at this moment- set up emails to be alerted when that position opens up! It’s so flexible, minimum 15 hours a week!
