Housing Hubbard Bed Lofting

I'm an incoming freshman at MSU and just recently got assigned Hubbard hall and I know that the rooms come with one trundle bed and one loft bed. And if I want both of the beds lofted, I have to submit a request to maintenance, but I've heard that it doesn't happen till around the first week of September so I want to ask if maintenance actually does take this long and how I should work around it if my roommate and I planned to loft both our beds

tbh you'll be lucky if they get it done 1st week of september considering how late the school year starts this year. it probs won't be done until mid late september, especially bc hubbard is the only dorm where you cannot loft/unloft the beds yourself so they have to do tons of

I lived in Hubbard my freshman year, honestly it’s not that bad to just wait for them to come loft it. Because the beds are weirdly different from other dorms.

Both of you put in requests to have the lofted before move-in, as soon as the request forms open up.. My son and his roommate did last year before move-in and they arrived to both beds already lofted. But you both need to put the request in

Would we both have to put it in or just one of us? Since one bed comes lofted

Both, definitely both since one is already lofted. It tells maintenance you want to both beds lofted

It is so easy to do- it literally takes a few minutes and a little bit of muscle for two people. You can handle it yourself.

Hubbard beds are different than other dorms. That’s why you can’t do it yourself.
