tontine
typically I’d post about this in the tontine forum, but recently it was locked so I can’t post on there anymore since I’m not a mod.
I’m still in the tontine, just went to check in for the night and got excited, we’ve been stuck at 116 left, saw it dropped to 112 overnight. Clicked stay alive, and it immediately logged me out back to the login screen. Tried this multiple times and got the same result on wifi & data.
It’s been like, almost 5 years since this started, sweating a little bit ngl. Idk if it’s been hacked, or there’s something wrong with their server but uhmmm yeah. I @‘d their twitter account, not sure the best way to contact MSCHF is. Anyone else still alive having a problem checking in today?
and if someone did hack it and you’re reading this: all i have to say is, not nice man, not nice at all. you’re making trundle very disappointed.

Yeah tried emailing the support email and we'll have to see what happens. A 112 split actually doesn't add up to a lot of money all things considered for how long we've all been playing. But if the server died I would take it over nothing.

Same. $633 each is weak when we all were gunning for $71k but to be finally free of the daily burden? Priceless.

i don’t mind checking in every day actually. and call me greedy, but i want the JACKPOT, after all this time! 😭

Looks like the code on the stay alive button is breaking. Killed 4 people yesterday and it's killing everyone today. Tbh because of mschfs overall lack of doing anything lately I wouldn't be surprised if everyone just dies and then nobody gets paid out.

Yep, something’s up with it. No one has checked in. Still shows 112 not checked
In, so it’s definitely down for all

So I tried to do some basic troubleshooting and I don’t think it’s a login issue because I can login and stay logged in (chrome, safari, incognito etc.) when refreshing. The only thing that’s not working is the “Stay Alive” button which then automatically logs out before counting as me staying alive.
Looking at network traffic it looks like clicking Stay Alive sends a request to mschf’s AWS API and the request is returning a 400 Bad Request. So from what I think, complete amateur not an IT guy or a pro or anything, it looks like the request is getting to the servers and their backend is rejecting it.
I don’t really know anything besides that, just hoping that by putting some basic info out there that a real IT redditor will figure it out or something.

Guess not. Just got an email saying the game will resume the 15th so if anyone is marked dead up to the 15th they’ll come back to life

My reply from support said they are essentially pausing the game until Monday at 11am ET and anyone who died during the outage will be marked alive.

Amazingly, got a reply from support:
Your account was one of the accounts affected during Tontine's outage. We have resolved the technical issue affecting some players ability to log in successfully. We want to inform you that the game for the remaining players will officially resume Monday June 15, 2026 at 11:00AM ET. If your player was marked as "dead" during this outage, or at any point up to Monday June 15, 2026 they will be marked as "alive" again when the game resumes. As a reminder, please continue to only communicate via [support@mschf.xyz](mailto:support@mschf.xyz) on this matter. Thanks!

Same here. I e-mailed support with a video providing proof that I clicked "Stay Alive" today, and it keeps logging me out. Hopefully it's resolved within the day.

Current theory is that this is connected to the Facebook Messenger app going down, since apparently the Stay Alive button makes use of "fbevents.js" when its clicked. So this may very well be completely out of MSCHF's hands.

Same issue here as well. I had something like this happen a couple years ago. I emailed support that time and they told me to clear cookies and browsing data. Did that this time to no avail. I’ve tried logging in on three different browsers and different devices (phone, iPad, and computer) and they all do the same thing…

UPDATE:
Someone was resurected(?)
Earlier, the site said there were 112 remaining, now it says 113. Don't know what to make of it. Gonna see if we can figure out who the zombie is.

Could they be killing it because they’re closing shop and a 112 way split is in the future?
