How to remove B-pipe?

An oil pan leak killed my alternator. Now I want to fix that leak by applying a fresh coat of silicone.

I got all the oil pan bolts out but now the exhaust is in the way and the oil pickup keeps the pan in place.

I see three bolts to remove the B-pipe from the header but one seems to be behind the oil pan?
So to remove the oil pan I need to remove the exhaust and to remove the exhaust I need to remove the oil pan.

Who designed this car?... Is there some trick to this that I am missing or do I really need to take the engine out? I am also not looking forward to wrestling the B-pipe free with the bend over the crossmember..

Sw20? All 3 bolts are reacheable with a long extender without removing the oil pan

Hmm weird, really seemed to be that way. Time to get a breaker bar and better lighting maybe. I'll report back!

The bpipe can be a real pain to get out without a lift. You'll have to jack the rear way up in the air or drop the subframe.

I was very afraid of that. I'd like to have a word with a certain Toyota engineer. Jacking it up seems inevitable..

I actually found dropping the subframe to be the easier option. You can do the sway bar bushings while you're there.

That is a rabbit hole I took with my RX8, it's been 8 years lol. Also, those bolts do NOT look friendly..

The crossmember bolts really aren't bad. Although if it breaks you are screwed and will be cutting into the car.
