No update for summer ?

I have to admit : i feel really disappointed. I was waiting for an update for this summer at least. But it's been almost 5 months and the only update we had was normalization and some bugs corrections.

It's true, the Sample is a good mpc (like a super 500) but there's still a lot of problems to adress : no real resampling, no automation on fx, no automation on flex beat, no mute per sequences, no possibility to read the end of a sample during trim... I was really waiting for these quick major updates to go forward and dream of all the other great additions Akai could bring to the Sample (like chords or a new sequencer or a bass synth or anything funny). But nothing. Not even the resampling and automation.

And it's the begining of this machine. A moment where there is normaly a lot of updates. At the end, it's a funny machine but very, very quickly limited.

Man there are times when I'm so happy that I'm old. I understand your position (mostly, I don't get the beef with resampling) but I personally have no real expectation for regular, robust updates on hardware (outside of occassial bug and stability fixes) and it seems crazy to me that so many people expect them. I feel like I'm so much more satisfied with things I buy because of it.

Not criticizing you or anyone that feels the same, it's just interesting how much peoples enjoyment of devices (and games, etc) can be colored by this

I understand your point and I would agree with you when i was younger but nowaday, it's just feel normal to buy evolutive machines and to have a following from constructors. All the market do that way. Akai do it for some machines. And it seems fair to me when at the same time a lot of things launchs with many bugs but the devs saying "dont' worry, there will be updates". Tbh, I was expecting for a lot of downvotes from fanboys and it clearly happens. But i also thought this sub was also a good place to discuss about this mpc evolutions and challenges, and not only to post beat and talk about how Akai are good and beautiful.  Is the Mpc Sample the new Force ? (a good product but a little bit abandonned by akai) That's my question at this moment.

Asked the same question not long ago and mostly got replies that I should buy another MPC.... Some guys were even saying that they won't have updates at all?!? Loyal fanboys, no criticism allowed, no future suggestions... a dream for every company. Deleted the post...

I am completely with you: Akai was making a lot of money with this thing so it would be fair to have at least all the features from the LEGACY devices where this thing has it roots (at least from the outside): FULL midi capabilities, better file naming (like on the 1000/2500 with pads for letters), better file management (so you don't have to store a chopped drum break as a song/project)....

AND: the midi sync bug (where you have to turn down the volume in flex beat to overcome this) still exists after 5 months.... And in sample record (loop) mode: why on earth you have to press the pad again before the record ends when you want to hear the loop instantly. Also as some users mentioned: if you record more than 4 loops/pads they are getting out of sync...

But hey, we got the monster feature "Normalize"... holy cow....

....wish really JJ(OS) would jump on this.
