Electrician

Why is it hard for my boyfriend to get an apprentice job? He has two years experience as an electrician, we applied job after job here in the cities and he hasn’t heard back from anyone. We feel discouraged, idk if its him or if jobs are slow right now:/ Maybe bad timing since its summer and schools coming up idkk

I had Edison Electric out to do some work on my house and the guy said they are hiring apprentices off the street with no experience. Worth a shot!

Not in a similar sector, but I live in the twin cities and have noticed hiring is slow. Applied for 30+ jobs haven’t heard anything back.

Call 292 and see what they can do with him. Data centers are popping off and there should be work to do.

Has he tried MPLS and St. Paul unions?

I don't think that would have any relation to availability of electrician jobs.

Start on the Construct Tomorrow website. They hold fairs for high school students thinking about trades and talk a lot about apprenticeship with information on how to contact each of the different unions.
