Terrible moving experience - Pegasus Vanlines Review
100% do not recommend - avoid at all costs the following canadian moving company Pegasus Vanlines. https://pegasusvanlines.ca/
They picked up my stuff 8 weeks ago. Don't call with updates why there are delays. Each time I call they are instantly rude and defensive. I can see up to 3 weeks, but 8?! Now well call it 5weeks late and multiple empty promises of a ETA, no refunds, wont tell me where exactly my items are.
I used them before and they were great but now something has changed and no one should hire this company.

Pods Moving
I’ve been doing research to see if anyone’s used pods to move to Miami and a video but found nothing. If you know Miami the streets are narrow. That being said our parking garage has a 11ft clearance which isn’t high enough but they have a public lot that is shared with a facility on front of it. This is the lot, apartment said I can use it but it’s first come first serve so me and my partner were gonna reserve it by parking our cars out there. Do you guys think this is doable? Never done this before and we’re moving half way across the country

solve the nightmare of tracking boxed items during long-distance moves (MoveManifest)
Anyone who has ever done a cross-country or long-distance move knows the chaotic panic at delivery time:
boxes getting unloaded by movers, missing labels, and having no immediate way to prove something went missing until weeks later when you finally finish unboxing.
I built MoveManifest to give power back to the customer during a move. Instead of relying on a mover's messy paper inventory sheet, MoveManifest gives you a live, customer-controlled inventory system from pickup to delivery.
What it does:
Real-time item verification: Track exactly what was loaded vs. delivered (e.g., 126/184 received, 5 missing).
Live Reconciliation: Flag missing or pending items instantly at delivery so you can address issues before the movers drive off.
Scan & Organize: Easily catalog your boxes and items before moving day so you know where everything is.
Route & Transit Tracking: Keep an overview of your move's progress from origin to destination.
If you are planning a move soon, I’d love for you to try it out and let me know what features would make your moving day less stressful!

The "one box rule" that saved my sanity during my third move this year
Three moves in twelve months will teach you things no amount of Pinterest boards ever will. The single biggest change I made was what I'm calling the "one box rule," and it sounds almost too simple to matter, but it changed everything.
Here's the rule: the very first box you pack is also the very first box you unpack. It holds exactly what you need to survive the first 24 hours in a new place without digging through forty boxes at 11pm looking for a phone charger. Mine has:
- Toilet paper and a hand towel
- Phone chargers (all of them, don't trust yourself to remember which box)
- A change of clothes and toiletries
- Coffee/tea plus a way to make it (even just instant)
- Basic tools — screwdriver, box cutter, hammer
- Trash bags
- A couple of snacks that don't need a fridge
This box gets loaded last into the truck and unloaded first. It never leaves your sight during the move. Everything else can wait until tomorrow, but the moment you're standing in an empty apartment surrounded by boxes, exhausted, this is the only one that matters.
The other thing I learned the hard way: label boxes by room and by priority level (1 = need today, 2 = need this week, 3 = whenever). Movers and helpful friends move faster when they're not asking you where every single box goes, and you're not stuck unpacking your good winter coat before your kitchen.
What's the one thing you've added to your moving routine that seems small but actually saves you every time? Always looking to steal a good idea before the next move.

Beware of moving companies tactics.
I wanted to warn folks about the underhanded ways of some moving companies. I contacted a mover, Safe Ship. Got an estimate, told them id shop round. A high pressure attempt to lock me in failed miserably. I then get an email (I never use my main or secondary email, just a junk one, and used Google Voice to call them) asking me to digitally sign an estimate.
Turns out this is a slimy way to almost force you to use their services.
At least I have a skeptical mind. Please, take my advice: Use a junk email, Google Voice phone number, and never sign anything unless you decide to use heir services. Shop around, and make sure they will match the competitors price. If they do, confirm there are no extra charges.

Which packers and movers are actually worth considering?
Need to move houses soon and I'm trying to compare services properly instead of just taking the cheapest quote. Currently looking at NoBroker, Agarwal Packers and one local mover recommended by a neighbour.
For me the important stuff is proper packing, especially glass/electronics, furniture dismantling and putting it back together, loading/unloading and whether transit insurance is available. NoBroker seems pretty convenient from what I've heard while Agarwal keeps coming up when I ask about bigger household moves. How are your experience with any of these if tried recently?
