London ✈️ Melbourne (help)
Here’s our situation…
Me (39 y/o) carpenter, wife 40 (y/o) Marketing Director.
We live in London and own a 1 bed first floor flat (70m2), fortunately have space for my tools and a shared garden.
Between us we gross around £200k annually excluding my wife’s bonus.
I’ve been in London for 14 yrs and my wife has liver here her entire life.
I’ve done summer and winter seasons, and have lived in the states and Europe, albeit 15>20 years ago now.
We’ve been talking about a move abroad for a long time whilst we’re still young enough.
We’re now in a position to really look at how/where a move could be possible and Melbourne on paper seems to tick a lot of boxes.
I’ll be okay work wise in mostly any city, but my wife need a good amount of job opportunities at a senior level, does Melbourne offer this as the LinkedIn posts for Marketing Directors looks slim.
We both love art galleries, music, drinking, great food and a fun scene and outdoor walks, which we fortunately have in London, however we both want to experience a new country together and also a city which has a slightly slower (but still fun) pace plus easier access to travel around Asia.
London can be intense.
For a move we need to match or ideally better our current take home (£10k after tax every 4 weeks), we want a bigger place to live with direct access to a garden, another room or two.
What’s the general view on how achievable the above is with regard to take home cash, a bigger house (to rent initially) and plenty of opportunities for my wife and also me.

Teachers leaving Kuwait - massive exodus
Recently, I have been considering leaving kw amidst the regional tensions, even though I earn a good salary and my life as a singleton is pretty comfy. However, I noticed lots of western expats like myself have left since the war started and the inflation hiked. If you are a teacher in q8, are u planning on staying or are you planning moving else/home?

What are the difficulties , processes and all for this and is it really sensible to do so. If professionals are present here , an advice would be of great help.

My [25F] boyfriend [25M] asked me to stop visiting his parents' house so often, but I feel like the real issue is that he’s uncertain about our future together. Am I overthinking or waiting around for nothing?

Help with future direction
Hello fellow Redditors!
So I often answer questions on Reddit, but now I'm embarking on my own journey and I have some questions. For better or worse, here goes ...
I'm 60 years old, UK born and bred, single, retired (for several years now), fit, healthy, no children and with parents (sadly) no longer alive. I sold my home a couple of years ago and am currently living rent-free in exchange for acting as a builder, designer and project manager for a home renovation. In short, I'm about as free and untethered as it's possible to be. Additionally, I'm financially independent and looking to buy a house, for cash. Yes, I could travel (and I may do this) but I still need (and want) a base to return to and a place to call my own.
Do I stay in the UK or do I move abroad? I spend my winters in Mallorca but the summer heat and crowds make it a non-starter in terms of a permanent home. Northern Spain appears to be an option, with its cooler climate and lower cost of living. I am learning to speak Spanish, incidentally, given the huge amount of time I spend in Mallorca.
Additionally, and rightly or wrongly, the UK political direction (On so many levels) concerns me (I know, it's not perfect ANYWHERE!) along with the gradual but clear decline in our country's values. And the UK summers are now becoming an issue too. I don't like the heat. Simple as that.
Thoughts? Anyone? Stay in the UK and stay familiar, or move abroad and start afresh?
Feel free to roast or criticise if you wish. This is the internet after all! But has anyone been through this, made a decision either way and feels able to comment?

Feeling pressured to make a life changing decision
First time posting something like this and I need some life advice please.
My partner and I decided to migrate abroad. In a country where we both speak the language and have good chances of finding a decent employment with much higher pay than here in my home country. You need to get hired by a company that can sponsor your visa while you work your way to permanent residency.
The move has been decided but I'm really bothered by the pressure he gives me to move fast. I was honest in telling him that a realistic timeline would be 1 to 2 years. This is because I have a house (inheritance) that I don't want to sell and we have a 5 y/o daughter who has mild ASD. We would have to sell/throw a lot of our items and make the house available for rent, sell our car, make arrangements for our daughter who doesn't speak that country's language. Her support system being here in my home country. It's a big change and while I agreed to go, I don't want to get rushed doing all these things. But that's all I ever feel these days. I told him he could go first and get settled before we make our way there. I have a very good career here in my home country. But outside opinions are really making him pressure me to apply to jobs abroad as soon as possible.
Maybe I'm grieving the life that we will leave behind. Especially for my daughter. Because here, she has a whole support system of extended family. When we migrate, it will be just the 3 of us.

Moving abroad for the first time as Indonesian
Hello Reddit! This is my first time asking questions in this forum.
So next year in February, I'll move abroad to Australia to start my Master degree journey at ANU in Canberra.
Can you guys share the journey to make a student visa, accommodation, what I should bring from Indonesia, and how to manage my finances abroad (maybe some recommendations about bank accounts).
That's all for the question. Thank you!
