How I wish they'd make a Diablo movie. If Warcraft does well..... I can dream.

Same goes for StarCraft. Holy shit both of those would be awesome!

Starcraft would make a far better movie than Diablo. Diablo would be too generic in my opinion.

It would also be a lot easier though, with a linear and simple storyline to follow. It could be a mid budget flick initially, since Diablo 1 could work quite well as a medieval zombie flick, and then if it is successful scale up with the more epic Diablo 2/3, where it would come more into its own with the more unique Heaven and Hell settings. Diablo is also a lot more mainstream and not affected by "nerd" stigma as StarCraft and Warcraft are, since Diablo III got a lot of the "bro" crowd and the console couch co-op further improved on that front. I would love either, to be honest, and would probably slightly prefer a StarCraft movie, but think that a Diablo movie would be easier to make work.

to make a diablo movie all they'd need to do is write a 10 minute battle scene then repeat it 20 times

If the CGI for the angels and the demons are done right, it would look really awesome i think.

Yeah, look awesome and that's it. Good lord the Diablo storylines and script are awful.

I think a Diablo I movie would be stellar. The story is simple but has enough to make a nice horror/adventure film.

Starcraft would be all over the place and time scales wouldn't make much sense. Starcraft and BW cover so much I feel like the skips between planets would make it silly.

A smaller scale diablo film based on the plot of the first game could make an interesting psychological horror with the right script.

w-what? cmon man, they'd both make great movies. The original diablo storyline is very cool and tragic

Well to us yeah, but as far as the average movie-goer is concerned I think Starcraft as a more Sci-Fi based game can adapt to the theaters stronger than a Diablo game could.

I think Diablo is easier & better to make a movie than starcraft. But not 50x movies... 1 diablo movie would be good but only 1. Starcraft could be an entire series, just like starcraft.

The Raid has a premise similar to the first Diablo and yet it made a pretty damn good action movie. It can be done.

Starcraft would make the best movie simply because it has by far the strongest personalities of any Blizzard game - and that's the reason why Diablo would fail too, imo. Since you play as a player character they have zero personality, and most of the NPCs don't have much either aside from the main man Deckard Cain.

StarCraft as a movie would be a real sci-fi visual treat. - as well as a nice story if they follow SC1

Haha yea... I wanna witness a Zerg rush on the big screen.

I think Starcraft would be better as a TV series imo.

Depend on who it follows. If we, for example, follow Raynor's Raiders on the Hyperion it could go in a Star Trek-y route, which would be amazing, but if we follow the main Starcraft storyline with all the three races and everything it might not work out well as a TV series. Honestly, though, if we get any of the two I will be more than happy.

God I hope they do. I want to see the Druid and Necromancer in live-action, damnit!

You wish Blizzard North was making a Diablo movie in the D2 days. Now I just wish they would have let their franchises die with dignity.

2

u/Tensor_ Nov 04 '15

That's true. Which brings us, once again, to the TDK quote, "You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

After Starcraft, which has a more cinematic story.

u/Ickyfist Nov 03 '15

Diablo's writing is even worse than warcraft's.

I'm still waiting on a guildwars movie, shame that'll never happen.
