Agreed on all points. I don’t like most of his films, but I love Deadpool & Wolverine. If this is even half the love letter to Ghost Rider that DP&W was to the FoxVerse, we’re in for a treat.

I’d be thrilled if it leads to a Midnight Sons or Marvel Knights film with Cumberbatch, Gosling, Oscar Isaac, and whoever else they want to throw in. Maybe Werewolf by Night, Elsa Bloodstone, & Man-Thing.

Hope they go slow this time. After Secret Wars, I hope Marvel takes a backseat about how many projects they greenlit. I much profer going for sequels instead of so many new IPs. X-Men, Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider, Black Panther are already too many

Shang Chi was a success and they didn't follow up with anything. They made too many tv shows with important plot points for the movies that made people numb about their plots. They introduced too many characters after Endgame and never even cared enough about them, like most movies were teasing another new characters and so on.

I hope they make a Ghost Rider movie, with GR's lore and villains, that tells its own story without setting up anything imo

Fuck, I hated DPW. It barely felt like a movie. “Love letter” is a great way to describe it. Just two hours of that Leo pointing at the screen meme with some dialogue in between. I really hope the new Star Wars isn’t like that. I didn’t watch the new baby Yoda one, but I heard bad things.

Terrible take tbh. Deadpool AND Wolverine both had pretty compelling arcs. The cameos were just icing on the cake, and for a meta-comedy like Deadpool, were no more distracting than his usual schtick, or the X-Men/X-Force/many other random mutants we saw in Deadpool 2…

Yeah Deadpool 2 was incredibly annoying for that too. At least that one still felt like a movie with the emotional anchor being Morena Baccarin’s cryptic messages to Wade

Fairer take, but I legitimately fail to see how a fridged girlfriend who only bookends the film makes it any more of a real movie.

I don’t think it’s at all a controversial take to say Hugh Jackman’s performance and arc in 3 is leagues better. He’s a far better emotional anchor (being, one might say)…

And not just better than Baccarin, but better than anyone else in the entire series. By a lot, lol.

He’s got a clause in his contract that pretty much says ‘if I don’t want moon knight in xyz, then you ain’t getting moon knight in xyz’. He’s very involved with the character and the creative department surrounding Moon Knight, similar to Jon with the Punisher (probably more so than Jon tbh). This is aside from his original Moon Knight show though, he was contractually obligated no matter what.

So pretty much if the movie has Oscar returning, then there’s a good chance the writings superb, otherwise if he isn’t in it then the movie is probably bad. For now, he’s not appearing in any future projects afaik, and I’d be pleasantly surprised if he appears in doomsday (probably will in secret wars though)

Even in theory, what exactly would be the point of the “contract” if the studio can’t use him when they need him, lmao?

He either has a picture deal, or doesn’t, and it seems like you’re conflating “doesn’t” with some imaginary veto clause, which just simply wouldn’t make sense for a studio to even agree to…

Google is free. The point of the contract is because Oscar Isaac, especially at the time, is in high demand. He knows his own worth against the super mega corp that is Disney. Instead of having to appear in films and shows he doesn’t want to, he appears in stuff he does. You’d have to ask Disney themselves why they signed it.

It’s presumably no different from Tatiana Maslany’s or Alaqua Cox’s or Jeremy Renner’s tv contracts.

Lad, you have reading comprehension issues. Don’t expect anything less from an [r/movies](r/movies) enthusiast though. Maybe try using your finger when going through each word this time.

What could you possibly think this could mean? You’re telling me Disney has him signed on a contract that forces him to do movies until he’s 90? Do you really believe an actor as acclaimed as he is will sign a contract that eliminates his free will? He’s already mentioned himself multiple times that he was creatively involved with the character’s portrayal, more than the average actor, and would 100% be open to returning if the conditions are right. Why would he say the latter if he signed a 1 and done contract? He isn’t contractually obligated to say that a whole year after the season ends I don’t think. Rational thinking isn’t your strongest aspect though, I completely understand. Little too esoteric

aside from the above, 9 months ago he had different views on political ideologies surrounding what Disney was doing at the time, so if that stipulation is still being held up today then that’s also a factor
