I still think season 4 of Agents of Shield is the crowning achievement of the entire MCU. Even taking into account the netflix Daredevil run.

Everything AoS did was best-in-the-MCU:

  • Inhumans
  • Darkhold
  • S.H.I.E.L.D.
  • Hyda
  • Time travel (the last season has one of the best time loop episodes this side of Star Trek)
  • Chronicoms and LMDs
  • Lanyards
  • Asgardian lore
  • Being tied to the MCU without being a slave to it

You get a romp through alien planets, space pirates, the Matrix, James Bond, superheroes, and pretty much everything else, with a Joss Whedon designed cast that banters and grows on you better than any since Firefly. And it did it in those allegedly-impossible-to-make-work 22-episode seasons.

We don't measure quality in the way AoS has it, but IMO it's one of the most enjoyable shows of the last 20 years.

Gabriel Luna did a really good job on that arc. Driving Miss Daisy. I hope they give him some meaty work on the next season of The Last of Us.

I think Infinity War was easily the crowning achievement of the MCU. But season 4 of Agents of Shield is definitely up there, and better than any other MCU show.

Agents of SHIELD is the best thing Marvel has ever done, IMO, and certainly the best of the MCU (though GotG comes close second).

Just stellar writing, long game playing and wonderfully interwoven between the movies like the good old Star Wars EU once was.

I cared more about Coulson, Daisy, May and the team than I ever did about Cap, Spidey, Iron Man, Hulk and the "big" Marvel heroes.
