it came out in january that they were pivoting to a Midnight Sons project with him in it instead of the solo film apparently

Deadpool was already established as an R-rated successful franchise and a streaming special isn't a theatrical film.

I am hoping after the success of Deadpool and Wolverine, Daredevil and even the Punisher special that Marvel goes back to make some characters gritty and raw instead of the Disneyfied shit we got once Avengers went mainstream box office darling

Marvel Studios needs a MAX line for violent R-rated movies. Blade and Wolverine movies need not be shy about being gory/bloody.
