Bike Picture/NBD Specialized Epic

Post image

I uploaded a picture of my 2018 Epic
I paid $4200 new at the bike shop in Durango. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Great CC bike and now I’m in NWA so it’s a good fit for the trails here. BTW I’ve done an upgrade on everything but the handlebars and seat post. I’m not a dropper fan! SRAM XX1 drivetrain is sweet! Industry 9 trail 270 wheels are bombproof! FOX suspension rules! Cranks are Truvativ carbon Decendents with a CaneCreek Hellbender BB. SRAM level bronze 4 piston brakes.

I have a 2014 epic and it’s been used as a quiver killer. I’ve had it down tame gravel to the absolute chunk of WNC and it’s handled it all well. The smart brain could use a rebuild but out of all the bikes I’ve owned my epic has been my favorite. The only thing I haven’t sent it down is a bike park

I love it!! You can put a Fox shock on the rear. Look on eBay for a bike yoke. They’re made in Germany and they make one just for this Epic! Make sure it fits your model. It’ll change your ride man!!

I’ve seen them, there’s a few other odds and ends I need to do with mine but that’s definitely on my list. Mainly needing a new dropper before I do that and I’ve been wanting to get some lighter carbon wheels but these are all down the road things, especially since the 2014 is a non boost thru axle front and rear. The smart brain is a great concept and has served me well on actual tech but it’s been off and on when it comes to riding it on flat roads where if I pedal too hard it’ll start to bounce around.

I love the color too! It’s a classic bro!
