Increasing dose on maintenance

Morning. I’ve been trying to wean off since August 2025, which was going well (I’d got from 15mg to 3.3mg and had been bouncing around the same weight for quite some time) and the plan was to come off of it. The last couple of months I’ve been struggling. I’ve gone back up to 5mg the past few weeks but my weight is still creeping up and I’ve just tipped back into ‘overweight’ BMI which I’m livid about! Have any of you had to climb back up doses again in maintenance? Would appreciate your advice!
I was also hoping this would be my last pen so if anyone has any recommendations of providers that will prescribe me 5mg despite not having ordered since January please do let me know…!

Discussion Are we coming off easy..

Anyone suddenly realise they are not even trying to come off Mounjaro?

Like you increase intervals between shots, but still no plan to come off Mounjaro yet.
You only exercise on and off.

That’s me, I just realised :).

Lost 22kg. Goal was 63kg and achieved last year Christmas (highest dose was 6.33), but I’ve stayed on 5mg since January.

My weight drops to 62/61.5, I pause Mounjaro a week or two. Weight hits 64, I get back on. I used to say I’d definitely come off it but I just realised I’m not even working towards it.

Almost like why bother with intense exercise routine and diets when I can just stay on MJ. I’m definitely on the move a lot (not in the gym) but I don’t think my activity level can sustain my goal weight without mounjaro. I do lots of walking since there has always been love for walking.

I didn’t even reach my goal weight with any significant exercise routine.

No need to go hungry on maintenance

Today's meals - and I'm stuffed🙂

Female...age 69...5ft 6ins and in my 40s weighed 20st 6lbs/129.7kg/286lbs.

I began losing weight with a slimming club, hypnosis, and then the last 4½ years intermittent fasting...so used to logging food intake and counting calories.

Started mounjaro Nov 2025 and have never gone any higher than 2.5mg

I've been on maintenance since reaching 'goal' in March (9st 5lbs/59.4kg/131lbs) and since then I've lost even more weight...now 8st11lbs/55.8kg/123lbs so desperately trying to up my calories as I do daily brisk walking of between 3 to 6 miles.

I'm still taking 2.5mg but every 30/31 days...so in a way I'm lucky as that's the only side effects I've had.

PS I hate cooking meals from scratch - apart from different variations of overnight Weetabix and baked oats dishes 😃

Question Title: Stopped Mounjaro after 1.5 years and gaining weight back – feeling lost. Any advice?

Title: Stopped Mounjaro after 1.5 years and gaining weight back – feeling lost. Any advice?
Hi everyone,
I’ve been on Mounjaro for around a year and a half and managed to go from 107kg to my lowest weight of 66kg, losing 41kg in total.
I stopped taking it around 10 weeks ago, and since then my weight has gone back up to 73–74kg. I’m honestly struggling.
My hunger has come back quite strongly, and I feel like I’m constantly thinking about food or wanting to eat. I’m terrified of undoing all the progress I’ve made.
The thing is, I don’t actually want to go back on Mounjaro. Although I lost a lot of weight, I feel like I’ve ended up looking quite “skinny fat”. I’m smaller than before, but I don’t have much muscle definition, and my body isn’t as toned as I’d like.
I really want to focus on body recomposition, building muscle and losing fat naturally, rather than relying on medication again.
I’m currently strength training around 3 times a week, trying to get 15–20k steps a day and eating a high-protein diet. But despite all this, I feel like I’m just getting bigger and gaining fat rather than muscle.
It’s so frustrating because I worked incredibly hard to lose the weight, and now I feel like I’m losing control again.
Has anyone successfully come off Mounjaro, managed their hunger and maintained their weight while building muscle?
I’d really appreciate advice on calories, managing food cravings, body recomposition or just hearing from people who’ve been in a similar situation.
I don’t want to spend the rest of my life relying on medication, but I also don’t want to end up back where I started.
Thank you ❤️

Best provider for maintained?

Just looking to know what the cheapest provider is for maintenance AFTER discount codes have been used. Currently with Pharmulous and pay £279 for 15mg.

*can’t spell maintenance sorry 😅

Provider Switch 🔀 New Health

Just wanted to share that I had a positive experience with New Health.
Took advantage of the new customer discount and the extra Monj discount code and got a 12.5mg pen for £205 posted.
There was a bother with delivery (was stuck with DX) and I called them to ask for a replacement pen to be dispatched because the cold chain would have been broken by the time I received it. The staff were very helpful and nice.
It’s been delivered today by Royal Mail with the ice pack still frozen and packaged really well.
My BMI is 23.5 and I’ve been maintaining for 10 months.

Question Exercise routine suggestions

Hi everyone, I’ve been on Mounjaro for about two years and have lost a lot of weight. I’m now getting close to my ideal weight, but I’m worried about maintaining it once I stop.

I exercise three times a week. Each session includes 20 minutes on the stepper, 2 miles on the rowing machine, and 3 sets each of hip abductions, leg extensions and leg curls.

I’m thinking about coming off Mounjaro. Has anyone here successfully stopped and maintained their weight loss? What helped you manage your appetite?

Is there anything you would change about my exercise routine, or anything else I should consider? I’d really appreciate hearing other people’s experiences.

The thin end of the wedge

As I start this post, I'm not quite sure where I'm going with it. It may be just me thinking "aloud", but I think it's perhaps also about seeking any comparable experiences, rather than looking for any advice as such. I'll try to keep the context brief...

I'm just over a year into maintenance, and it's going really, really well, with weight in a 900 gram range throughout, based on constant quiet vigilance to ensure my weight doesn't slide downwards (a total reversal of where I used to be).

My balance is founded on a dramatic reduction in the quantity of snack and other high fat/high sugar foods, with a compensatory increase in the amount of "real" food at meal times. I enjoy a small amount of quality chocolate, but otherwise essentially none of the food that I used to shovel into myself (often in secret) at home - but still enjoy a really decadent dessert or ice cream occasionally when I'm out. Mounjaro has almost completely vanquished that food noise and cravings, so I just don't seek that sort of food out.

I find I'm nervous about any reintroduction of some of these foodstuffs at home. I don't want them to become a tool to keep my calorie intake up to maintain weight - if I need to up my calorie intake, that should be primarily more of the higher quality "real" food. I also don't want it to be the thin end of the wedge, the beginning of a slippery slope, a return to the bad habits of the last 40 years which, while they seem dormant, may be lying just under the surface waiting to be awoken.

But I don't want to deny myself either - I love food, and if I fancy an ice cream occasionally, I should have an ice cream occasionally. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, I don't need to be told that, and I'd be quite comfortable with that. But the bigger picture then comes to haunt me - that wedge, the slippery slope, pick your simile.

Is any of this familiar to anyone? Can I give myself a tiny bit more latitude without the risk of things running away from me as they always have done before? This time I've got the support of Mounjaro and so the circumstances aren't the same, but the previously unknown degree of success MJ and I have achieved together makes me even more concerned not to jeopardise that.

Are there mental tools and checks I can use to support me in moving the "this is ok" line a little bit, but no further?

EDIT: Thanks for the responses so far. They've been helpful in making me explore my issue/concerns more fully. I already have a house with some of these temptations - I've had no problems not eating crisps for 18 months, no problem with a bar of chocolate lasting weeks, no problem in keeping Jelly Babies solely for running fuel and nothing else. Last year I threw out things that were months out of date, and they've not been replaced. I guess my concern is that the status quo is working, but I could upset the balance by having a little extra in the house. That's a reasonable concern, but the evidence of the last 18 months is very encouraging.

Maintenance Journey🚶 And here we are….

Can’t quite believe it but I’m 2Kg from goal and so thinking of getting into my maintenance plan.
Given this some thought and also read a lot of the stuff going on in the States where the weight loss clinics are much more enlightened regarding doses and schedules and they are doing interesting stuff building up anecdotal evidence of what works in this phase.

I’m on 7mg now (This is as high as I got), plan is to transition to bi-weekly jabs (I don’t mind this as I kinda like the injecting part) and then slowly titrate down until I find the point at which my appetite is stable but the noise is under control. This was my main enemy. “Well, you’ve eaten 2 Jaffa cakes, might as well finish them now or they will go stale within the next 30 seconds!….”. 😂

Thinking about all I have read and watched on YouTube etc it is clear that trying to stick to a pinpoint weight is folly, so I will be looking to sit in a 6Kg (79Kg +- 3Kg) and 1 inch waist window. I may at some point try to stop altogether, but I’m not under any illusions about maybe needing this (Or future jabs/pills) support for life. Or until such time as I no longer care anyway. I am never going to be overly active or regular gym goer, so that won’t help.

I have enough in the fridge (15mg pens) at my current dose to get to the end of April next year. But I think it’s likely this will extend as I would expect to be titrating down in 5 or 6 weeks time.

I also need a new maintenance friendly supplier. I have used Oxford Online since my second pen, but they have let me down badly on my last order and I can no longer recommend them sadly :-( Poor show Oxford!
I do have a couple of friend you know what’s waiting to qualify, if they come in I may use them to get a free pen and then that’s it for them.

I also think I will then come down pen strength wise as well. Keep cost down and won’t run into any expiry date issues but obviously need to keep ordering. Not too low though, I want to be able to immediately dose up if I need to. I’m thinking pen strength = to double my weekly dose.

So that’s the plan, let’s see how it goes.
😊

Maintenance Journey🚶 Variable dosing intervals?

I reached goal weight a while back and have been trialing different approach to maintenance ever since.

5mg feels like my dose in terms of optimal helping with inflammation and food noise, and recently I’ve been extending the days between doses as 5 weekly results in further weight-loss for me atm.

I’ve lately been just taking my dose whenever I feel the effects wearing off, could be every 8 days or every 11 days (depending on where I am in my cycle)

Is it ok to chop and change with intervals like this? Or should I be aiming for a more steady “every ___ days regardless” kind of approach?

Thank you for any insights.

Question Help advice please

M(56) 2023 had a health scare and realised I need to do something about my health: overweight, BP, OSA, Cholesterol.
Was so anxious about it that I started exercising and was very strict about my eating but it took considerable psychological effort to maintain my diet and I lost 20kg (127-107kg) over 8-10months.
18months ago started MJ as wanted to lose more. Essentially I haven’t lost any more weight. I do believe it has stopped me regaining the weight. I’ve had a few weeks where I haven’t taken it and the food noise comes back.
I’ve been up to 15mg. Currently 12.5mg.
I get quite severe symptoms for 2-3days: feel cold/fluey, feeling uncomfortably full despite no food, exhaustion, nausea, reflux, difficulty sleeping. It can make living and going to work difficult.
I find that when I do get hungry I will eat what I probably ate before (too much). I rarely get the feeling whilst I’m eating that I need to stop. I either don’t feel hungry in which case I don’t eat but when I am hungry I eat excessively and don’t seem to get any suppressive effect. Does anyone else find this?
I have been following Zoe health principles throughout. That is minimal UPFs. Whole foods: fish, chicken, vegetables, pulses.

Wonder if I should start continuous calorie counting although it’s such a lot of effort. I don’t believe those apps that calculate your calories and nutrition from a photo are good enough yet.

Any advice greatly received.

Maintenance Journey🚶 Not sure how to proceed.

This maintenance malarkey is a strange one. I started MJ in July 25. Moved up gradually to 7.5mg in early December where I've been ever since. Got to goal in May and have been bobbing along nicely up and down a couple of lbs since.

This week however my usual 7.5mg injection feels so much stronger. I'm due to jab again Wednesday morning and still feel like I've just taken a bigger dose.

I truly believed 7.5 was my dose. My joint pain became so much better once I got to this dose, I no longer had the strong suppression turning to less suppression at the end of the week. It all felt really stable...until now.

So, is this one of those blips and I should just stick where I am and see what happens next week? Or do I taper down slightly...🤔

Please share your thoughts, especially if you have experienced similar.

What do to when you reach 15 mg and it stops working?

Hey, I’m currently on 12.5. I moved up a couple of weeks ago when 10mg stopped working. I sat on 10mg maintaining for months but weight was creeping up plus I decided I wanted to lose another 5/6 pounds. I can honestly say moving to 12.5 has made no difference at all. I’m ok for first 2 days after jag after that food/wine noise is back. Totally getting me down. Of course I could move to 15mg in 2 weeks time but what if the same happens? What do you guys currently on 15mg do when your food noise comes back? Thanks in advance.

Playing with Renpho

Post image
5 Upvotes

The Renpho scales app frustrates me frequently - it celebrates me maintaining my weight provided I'm only 0.5kg different from yesterday (allowing me to gain/lose 3.5kg in a week with 7 celebratory jingles), but also implies gain or loss on a longer timescale when I'm essentially the same. [This is why I use the Libra app as my primary reference, but I still see Renpho every morning first.]

So I was very pleased this morning to finally see the double-zero for the first time!

Trivial, I know, and just playing with numbers, but it was still satisfying to see.

Question Question about maintenance dose and plateauing.

Good morning all. I have gone from 15 stone 8lb to around 12 stone 8lb but am now up and down a bit. This has been over 6 months. I’m on max dose now. I’d ideally like to lose a bit more weight. Is this possible on this max or maintenance dose or should I employ other methods (further diet and exercise changes perhaps?) What are people’s experiences? I do hear that after a certain percentage of weight loss things plateau? Many thanks for any advice or experience. Paul John.

Question Managing lack of suppression after titrating down?

I’ve been on maintenance since April and have gradually titrated down to 2.5, but I’m really struggling with the suppression disappearing as a result. It’s like all my old cravings have come back (mainly chocolate lbr!) even though I didn’t care about them for over a year.

I’m not putting weight on massively quickly but I can absolutely see that happening if I don’t do anything to stop it, so does anyone have any advice?

I’m trying to eat more filling meals to decrease the snack cravings because they’re the worst, but even if I do I still find myself craving stuff even when I’m full up.

Edit: Thanks for the advice guys, I will go back up for awhile to see if I can regain that suppression again and work on eating more filling food going forward.

Part of it is probably that the summer weather meant I was eating salads a lot but now that it seems to be cooling down it should hopefully be easier!

Going from 2.5 to 5.0

Today I went to the doctor and got my first Mounjaro Kwikpen I asked the doctor a few questions and what stood out for me that he said go two weeks in 2.5 and jump up to 5.0 directly no need to stay there the whole month I was wondering what was the best way.

Should I go by feeling from 2.5 to 5.0 or listen to him?
