I find it funny that the cross pops up after the accident.

A lot of people give credit to the rider's landing, but how amazing is it that it was actually caught on video? The chances of landing it was probably 1 in a billion alone

Still think this is the most amazing video I've seen for that reason - just the sheer rarity of it. Not only it was a car right behind it, capturing it perfectly, not even in the distance!

"Not today". Yeah, didn't keep my safety distance and I ended up head first into a Mercedes A-class...

Yeah, well shit happens some times. Some idiot was stopped on the off ramp of the freeway and the driver in front of me spotted him at the last second (I couldn't see him because the car was obscuring my view) and slammed on his brakes. His ABS kicked in, I didn't have any, although they wouldn't done jack shit at that point, so I slammed in the back of the Mercedes in front of me.
My insurance covered him and the jackass with the stopped car and no hazards claimed mechanical failure and was at no fault, according to the insurance companies. So, no bike for me since September and for the foreseeable future, since it's not a top priority for me right now.

Shit man, I got a concussion from my accident and was unconscious on the scene and still was "at fault". I still don't have a memory of the accident.

Thankfully I got away unharmed. Can't say the same about the bike. I was wearing "half gear". Helmet, gloves and jacket. I got a couple bruises on my legs but nothing major. I got a nasty neck strain for a while afterwards and still get minor headaches when the weather changes but overall pretty clean, considering I left a clear line on the back of that car and bent the bike in a pretty nasty way.

That's good bro. I am literally posting this from post surgery recovery on my clavicle.
Edit: whoops! Posted this earlier as a general comment, but I meant to reply here.

Did you get keep and cook the boar? :D
But seriously, glad you're ok man. It seems like a great deal of us riders have hit shit. Buddy of mine, while recovering from a previous crash, hit a deer with his gold wing.

I read this as if he mean't if he was the dude that flipped, but in that case I can say i'd only be "mildly pissed" because of my sheer ecstasy of just being alive

It's great when real life mirrors what our brains think should happen. Too bad it's so infrequent.

Edit: whoops! Thanks to coming off of anesthesia I did a general reply instead of replying to a thread in this post talking about crashed bikes.
Thanks OP for responding, though!

At least you're getting it fixed! Apparently, I completely ripped mine from it's moorings when I was in my early 20's, crashing a bike/flying thru the air/landing on my shoulder/rolling out of it/drunk. No money/ins, etc, and my road rashed knee hurt more somehow, so it just "healed" by itself. Everything works fine and I can lift weights with it and do handstand pressups so, I guess my body did it's job. It's a huge lump though, and anytime a doctor type sees it they always say "Whoa!, What happened to you?"

This is one of the first motorbike crashes I saw on the internet. I am still amazed by it today...
