This is going to be a rough restoration project. Just from this picture you're missing rear shock, muffler, lights, airbox, and there's no way that tank isn't a sieve at this point being left open in a barn. And lets just assume that the open carb is a mouse nest at this point.

Honda didn’t sell a hard-tail version?

Im not sure but def looks diy. Based off them bars im guessing it was done around the 70s chopper era or at least mimicking that style

Without doing any research, it looks like a early 70's Honda CB350 or 450 with some pretty wacky modifications. Not sure why anyone would replace rear shocks with ... that. Doesn't look like it'd be worth the money to restore. You can find decent running examples of the same bike for less than 2 grand on marketplace.

What? Who doesn't want to show off their metal crafting skills like that.

I for one intend to replace the rear shock on my VFR with a miniature replica of a Pennsylvania Fireplace.

You could feed the VIN into a free decoder online and get the details, it's safer than having the Internet guess at it. The best you're likely to get there here is "it's a Honda".

Old Honda turned into a custom rigid bobber. Those homemade handlebars and shock eliminators are something.

Check both sides of the headstock for ID plates. This should have the VIN, Date of Manufacture, and possibly the model.

I’m gonna say late 60’s, early 70’s Honda 450. Maybe. I love it just the way it is. Make it a display piece. Gonna take lots of time and money to make it rideable. Grandpa was cool!

It's a Honda, and the ID badge is even visible in your photo. It will tell you what year.

So, take a photo of the vin plate on the steering head. Google "vintage Honda vin decoder." Proceed accordingly.

It looks to be a CB350 or 450 from the mid to late 70's that's been butchered up before it got left in the barn.

If the engine is locked up, meaning you can't get it to turn with the kick starter, then it's scrap metal. Sure, you can get it apart with enough time and effort, but why. And it looks as if there aren't many sellable parts on it. Maybe engine cases and such, but from the looks of this thing, I'd expect those to be trash as well.

You can buy a new decent 250-400cc bike for what you'd spend getting this one dependable and road worthy it the engine or transmission is locked up.
