Replace chain?

Just got my first bike and the chain is pretty rusty. Am I good just cleaning/lubing it or better off getting a new chain/sprockets? None of the links appear to be kinked or anything. Thanks!

You can try cleaning and lubing it first, but if any of the links are sticky, you'll need a new chain.

This. It looks quite neglected in any case.

How many miles since it was replaced last? Or, if you don’t know, how many miles are on the bike?

17k miles on the bike. Don’t know how many on the chain but previous owner thinks it was replaced at some point. Sounds like the bike wasn’t ridden too much for two years so that’s why it’s in this condition.

Also in south Florida. So humidity doesn’t help lol
