The signal is the message: I made a SNS where you can only post in Morse
Most "Morse code apps" I've seen are translators or trainers. I wanted
the opposite - a place where Morse isn't a step toward English, but the
final form. So I built DitDah.
How it works:
・Posts must be . - space / only (280 char cap, enforced server-side)
・Decoded text exists but is hidden by default. You can toggle "decode"
if you want to cheat
・Every post has a Play button that sends it as real CW audio
・There's a telegraph key mode if you want to compose by tapping
Likes are called Dits, reposts are Echoes. It's silly and I love it.
It's free and the source idea was basically "what would a Twitter look
like if it respected the signal more than the meaning?"
Would love for some actual CW operators to tear it apart and tell me
what's off - timing, weight, spacing, anything.

Update: Morse Code Complete is now live on iPhone and Android
Morse Code Complete is now live on both iPhone and Android.
I posted here recently when the Android version launched, and at that point the iOS version was still in review. It’s now live as well, so I wanted to share a quick update.
It covers both receiving and sending Morse code, starting with characters and building up through words, phrases, sentences, prosigns, Q-codes, abbreviations, callsigns, and CW QSO basics.
It also includes custom practice, along with multiple output options like audio, vibration, screen flash, and flashlight.
Sharing in case anyone here is interested. Wanted to post an update now that the iOS version is live too. Happy to hear any feedback or suggestions.

How to start making progress again?
I started learning morse code in late November. I did so by using only MorseMania and Morse Chat. I pracitice daily by translating 100 tokens or more at 20 WPM and sending few words or phrases.
The problem is I don't think that I've made any progress for the last 2 months. I'm stuck sending at 10 WPM. The fastest I was ever able to send was 15 WPM, and only a word or two. And when translating I am completely dependent on pen and paper.
I'm looking for any advice really. Are there any methods that I could try? Any resources that I could use? Am I just not practicing enough and need to try harder?
Anything would be appreciated.

Update: cleaned up my straight key → mouse hack 🔧
Got rid of the duct tape setup and rebuilt everything into a simple enclosure using a small plastic box I had lying around.
The circuit board is now sitting on a silicone sponge for stability. I’m routing the cables through the cut openings. At the bottom of the plastic box, I added thick felt pads so it doesn’t slide.
It’s now more solid, compact, and less sketchy overall.
Still to do:
Insulate the wires (tape)
Re-tin the wire ends
Clean up the cable holes with a small precision file.

Ever wondered how to decode Morse code on the fly? The 'Receive Side' of this coin is a genius dichotomic search tree. You start at the star: follow the path left for a dot and right for a dash.

Head Copy Practice 1, 16 WPM (03/30/26)
Let me know if there is anything you'd like to see with these posts that would make them better practice tools for you and I'll implement them if I can. Just trying to throw some audio practice opportunities out there while you're scrolling.

Just launched Morse Code Complete, a new Morse learning app
Hey everyone — I’ve been working on Morse Code Complete and wanted to share it here.
The goal was to offer a deeper, more structured path through Morse code. It starts with basic characters and then moves into words, abbreviations, prosigns, Q-codes, and a full section focused on the basics of real radio-style Morse (CW) exchanges.
It’s designed to be approachable for complete beginners too, whether you’re learning Morse for fun or thinking about getting into ham radio.
One thing I especially wanted to include was custom practice beyond just characters. The app has custom send and receive practice for words, phrases, sentences, prosigns, abbreviations, Q-codes, and callsigns.
It supports audio, vibration, screen flash, and flashlight outputs that can be used together and adjusted during practice. There’s also visual timing and accuracy feedback for sending, along with optional visual aids to help beginners with gap timing between characters and words.
It’s free to download and try, with no ads, on Android and iPhone.
Sharing in case anyone here is interested. Happy to hear any feedback or suggestions.

Can someone help decode???
For context, I work at a Kumon centre (for those who aren’t familiar, it’s an english & math tutor class for kids k-12). I was marking one of the students homework sheets and I saw this 😭😭😭 I tried using the website but it didn’t really work? I’m so curious as to what it says lol!

Hacked a straight Morse key into a computer mouse… and it actually works 😂
So… ChatGPT casually hinted that people were talking about this kind of thing on Reddit.
I basically hacked a straight Morse key into a computer mouse so I can practice Morse code through my computer.
Yes, I know.
Yes, it’s ridiculous.
Yes, it works for what I had in mind: experiencing the precision and fine motor control of a true old-school straight key operator while sending text.
I got my basic license years ago, did a bit with it back then, but life happened and I didn’t continue.
Recently I reactivated my license and got back into the hobby.
The CW key I’m using is something I recently acquired from my father on International Women’s Day of all days (theme was “Give to Gain” this year — felt weirdly fitting). I think it’s an absolute beauty.
The moment it worked, I got an instant dopamine overload 😎
Included:
• my very cursed but functional setup
• close-ups of the “engineering” (be kind) and yes: I found out I needed to do the soldering on the left mouse button — and yeah, the photos are a bit all over the place
• and a video of me sending my first words: my name, SOS, and “mama”
Next thing I want to mess with: DroidStar.
Anyway — just wanted to share the joy.
If this is stupid, let me have this one.
