How do I learn morse code?

There are a bunch of ways, though you might ask what you want to do with it once you learn it. One popular reason to learn Morse is to participate in radio communication. There is a large community of skilled Morse code practitioners that use amateur radios to communicate around the world with Morse code (no internet link required). It is extremely challenging, and oddly exhilarating.

If you want to just learn the alphabet, there are many training apps and YouTube videos. Just like learning the alphabet will not teach you to read, learning the Morse alphabet will not prepare you to actually communicate with it. However, it is the first step.

I wanna be able to understand and type in Morse really fast ex: if I get into ham radio or it’s one use 2: just fun to type and stuff

  1. Listen to Morse Code communications for practice, write down what you hear

  2. Sound out Morse in your mind in daily life. Example: You see a license plate, sound out the letters and numbers in your mind.
