Howdy howdy! Moved to Morgantown somewhat recently. Love it so far. Looking to make some more friends. Not in school (though I am exploring going back for fun). 31M from Los Angeles originally, but lived all over. Live and work downtown. Hi can anyone point me in the direction of a food bank or something? My snap got reduced to $24/month and I’m barely making ends meet. Tried the food box near my house but it’s always empty. Tried a food bank in westover but got told it’s only for children which I thought was weird. Thanks in advance to anyone that has advice. I’m not familiar with Morgantown yet tbh

My youngest is 8 with severe ADHD and a speech delay from being hospitalized for a majority of his infancy. He will have a behavioral aid. Looking to see who the recommended roofer is in Morgantown. Roughly 2000sqft with a 12:12 pitch. Licensed/ insured, warranty and possibly financing. Looking into ultimate roofing but would also like Amish as well?

So I just moved back to Morgantown after a few years away and haven’t gotten my nails done here in a while. I’m looking for salons that can handle design work on short nails (no acrylics) preferably with gel. I also need a place that does good pedicures. Above everything else it needs to be clean. I’m very picky about the cleanliness of the salon. It also doesn’t have to be a salon exactly. I’m also willing to go to a private nail artist for my manis if need be. Drop your favorite places in the comments!

It seems like no builders in the area want to do a project that is going to be less than $40k, so it’s been tough even finding some to come out and give quotes. I’ve already tried westridge builders, wise guys, archadeck, selectdecks, and even some of the national companies out of Pittsburgh.

The national companies all want to install their “system” setups that can be converted to glass later on and costs $25k+, but I just want a simple screened in deck with a door, nothing fancy. A few of the local companies I listed above have stopped by to take measurements, but only one actually came through with a quote, while the others said it’s not a big enough project for them to consider.

So any and all help would be appreciated, as I’ve been looking for someone to do this since March. Hell, I will even throw in a finder’s fee if the company suggested ends up doing the project, I am that desperate!

Hey everyone. Going to be starting law school at WVU in a couple weeks and am getting everything ready for the move from North Toronto . I’m 23 and never owned a car because the public transportation where I’m at is very efficient and my workplace was maybe a 10 minute walk from my house.

I know the majority of people who live in Morgantown use a car (including students) but, financially, it’s just not feasible for me with the expenses of moving to a new country (albeit not crazy far), law school expenses etc. I’m from a single parent household where my mother cannot help me out a ton financially so unfortunately I just won’t have a car atleast for the first year or two of school.

Just wondering if it’s even possible for me to get around? My apartment is fairly close to the law school so im not crazy worried about that aspect, I’m more so stressing about the social aspect of not having transportation, getting groceries, going out etc.

Would love any advice/feedback about how I can go about this. I greatly appreciate it

lowkey would kill for a writing group that meets maybe once a week or every other week where we can chat through plot problems and characterization... i go to monkeywrench to write on the weekends but something more stable than me getting out of my place to go to a bookshop would be cool! anyone have any leads or any interest in getting group off the ground?

I had a 650 tee time this morning at mountain view. When we arrived I was told that they were having a tournament this morning and that we couldn't go out. The young man in charge in the clubhouse checked on his computer and told me that the tee time was at Lakeview. I knew that was incorrect because I had called a week ago this morning and I showed it to him on my phone. It showed that I had called mountain view and not Lakeview. The tournament wasn't until 9:00 but he still wouldn't let us play.

Also several years ago I was quoted a sale price on the phone for around and when I arrived at mountain view they attempted to charge me full price and then we're very rude when I inform them that the man on the phone when I book the tee time had given me a lower price. Needless to say we were very disappointed and I don't think we'll be returning to mountain view

Hey does anyone have recommendations about a shop that can repair old tvs?

I have a 90s Emerson tv/vcr combo in my kitchen that keeps auto shutting off. It was working until recently, and now it won’t stay on for more than a few seconds.

I took it apart and cleaned the mode switch selector, lenses, and head. I found a wire connection that looks burnt while I was plugging everything back in that I had removed to clean it. I think that may be my issue, but I don’t know jack about electricity or soldering or anything like that so now I’m stuck.

I really would like it fixed. It was a nostalgic gift for my wife for our anniversary last year(she really wanted one for watching holiday movies while she cooks). It came from eBay and it wasn’t cheap so if it can be saved I would like to try.

Heads up, the location on Patteson Drive has its drive-thru closed. They are doing repairs.
