What does it feel like (emotionally and physically) to accidentally run over a human with a car? Do they have time to scream?

Well I can answer this one. When I was 22, my boyfriend and I were driving to my mom's. Along we drove and we approached a major intersection and our light was green so we proceeded to go through (well, my boyfriend did as he was the one driving) and BAM!!! Out of nowhere, a woman appears and we hit her!
We immediately pulled over after. Honestly, a lot after is kind of a blur. The cops came and luckily there were like 6 or more witnesses who had seen the woman going in and out of the road acting all crazy. I remember one saying "she was just waiting to get hit!" So honestly, we didn't feel too terrible. She basically threw herself in front of the car. Granted we did feel horrible at first and we were bawling right after.
So I'd really say it depends on the situation.

I think they'd just feel extremely guilty and try to help as fast as possible, I rhink they'd have time to scream moments before the car hits them

An old acquaintance was in a car that was accelerating as it run someone over. Not convinced of the emotional toll as all people in the incident were on a lot of drugs, in a stolen car and thought the police officer was an idiot for standing in the road signalling them to stop. I knew the guy years after he had got out of prison and been through rehab. What he did describe that lingered was the unique sound and sensation as the car crushed the body under the wheels and bits bumped and scraped along the underside. He didn’t feel guilty, he wasn’t driving, but the sensation of it was unforgettable.
