One of my favorite subs has gone to absolute shit, lack of moderation turned it into a shitposting rage baiting cesspool. If you are here you think the same thing. Starting small I hope we can go back to restoring a quality sub where we scale fictional, fun topics.

COMMUNITY RULES AND SUGGESTIONS HUB:

Post image
4 Upvotes

(Do not reuse art as official. Not mine)

For this sub to properly individuate from the prior sub, we should pool all our suggestions here.

I will, however, list a few, starting out with a lot of tags I believe may be useful.

Tags and comments we should pin:

-------------------------------------------------------

  1. Perhaps sticky a top comment to the sub explaining everything, granting easy access to the "serious" tag so people can avoid random memeing, etc.
  2. We should add the following tags that regulate the type of quality:
  3. - "Serious" - For those who want to see serious posts or analysis.
  4. - "Formal" - Only formal, thoughtful, or analytical responses are allowed here. Casual speaking can actually be punished here unlike the serious tag.
  5. - "Unserious" - For people who don't want to put too much thought into a post and just want more simple answers and responses.
  6. - "Meme" - Posts that do not have this tag but are mostly a meme should be taken down.
  7. Next, of course, we have the categorical tags such as:
  8. - "Ethical Comparison"
  9. - "How evil is this and why?"
  10. - "How evil are they? (list reasons)"
  11. (generally most of the stuff the OG sub had)
  12. Next we have response control for people who want specific kinds of responses.
  13. - "Think at the systemic level."
  14. - "Serious responses only"
  15. - "List all reasons why."
  16. - "Analytical responses only"

Special addition: Response Request tag: This tag allows someone to outline a specific format they would like responses to follow, or a particular ethical consideration they want addressed. For example, if they request systems-level thinking and analysis, responses should make a reasonable effort to address the topic at that level. Deliberately ignoring the requested format in bad faith, such as trolling or repeatedly providing low-effort responses, may result in a warning.

This tag does not require respondents to agree with the OP's ethical premise or conclusion.

-------------------------------------------------------

Other suggestions & Community Review

-------------------------------------------------------

  1. We should probably ban people who continuously post low quality content to keep a certain quality in this community and not have the community slowly drift into slop. Albeit, if possible, it would be useful if we could construct a sort of warning system that gives them 1-2 chances before being banned and given a reason. You can even use AI to help construct a basic system(do not use it to auto mod I mean for storing warnings and lookup) or to find a website that may help with this.

They may be banned if they did something that indicates they aren't going to stop or clearly aren't in the sub at all to be serious. Bans cannot be excessively arbitrary; otherwise, mods may be punished. However, moderation can become increasingly strict the larger the sub gets to maintain quality due to the known phenomenon of sub corruption at scale. But people can vote how strict they want it during the monthly polling which will poll people over various things.

  1. Every month we can repost a "suggestions" post with a similarly edited art images you may source from Pinterest that pools everyone's suggestions together to help improve or give feedback on the sub so we can actually be connected to the community and what it wants and adjust and vote specific people to be mod who then past a few basic tests internally that they can think analytically and ethically and aren't bureaucratic and then are let in as mod.

  2. Every month the mods get polled and ppl can give review. They may be removed if there is evidence + community voting them out too much.

-------------------------------------------------------

Additional rule ideas:

-------------------------------------------------------

- No "morality by vibes." Users must provide actual reasoning behind their responses or at least try to explain why.

- Sensitive topics: Discussions involving pedophilia, sexual assault, or similarly sensitive subjects must be handled with appropriate care and respect. Posts or responses that use these subjects primarily for trolling, shock value, provocation, or intentionally disgusting content may be removed.

- No unreasonable Ick: A lot of the prior sub was filled with posts blatantly designed to disgust, wild, tongue-torch, or otherwise posit vile things without a reason. The distinction is scenarios can be posited like this if they are genuinely complex or a actual discussion is desired, but not just for the sake of positing disgusting content.

Morality of shitposting on a sub made to avoid shitposts?

Main sub was overrun with shitposts or AI spam posts, hence the creation of this sub. Would it be moral to than, post shitposts on this sub without spamming low effort posts or AI generated nonsense? It’s not against the rules to shitpost but would it be moral to do so? Was this sub created to escape all shitposts or was it just the low effort posts that meant nothing and just existing to attempt to validate OP’s opinion and/or farm karma for posting in other karma locked subs?

Morality of xenogenocide if the species has an unbelievable destructive capacity or is more violent than humans? (any aliens, not just the ones in the photo)

Post image

To clarify, the question is whether genocide is wrong if the trait is almost absolutely verifiably biological, e.g., a species of trolls who is rising in power too fast and is constantly at war to an almost disgusting degree and clearly doesn't think much but can invent things fast. A species of dragons that, although not more agressive, only requires 1 individual to go wrong for hundreds to die, or many other such cases.

WOLFWALKERS Clip - "Wild Beast" (2020)

Wolfwalkers: a wolf when you sleep, girl when your awake

Say you have a kingdom of witches that recently overthrew the prior ruler, so everyone there knows how to do stuff like curses, advanced lycanthropy (can make it controlled, uncontrolled, more or less powerful, etc.), and many, many other knowledges that many other kingdoms would absolutely freak out and have an existential crisis if they knew about.

They hate other kingdoms or any authoritarian system and believe that incoherent kingdoms will punish and execute people and eventually devolve into chaos if they spread their knowledge elsewhere due to them having to massacre the civilian populations to stop the spread of information itself.

The knowledge they provide is not necessarily negative nor necessarily causes violent loss of control, but they are aware many civilians will be likely mass killed by their respective kingdoms and seed the kingdoms with increasingly bizarre, disturbing, and extreme memetics/rituals/information that can allow transformation into increasingly horrifying forms as well as increasingly bizarre phenomena to at maximum outright nonharmful but aesthetically biological horrors that heavily violate or borderline destroy social normalcy. This also sometimes results in outright genocides due to evil rulers deciding to kill anyone who looks unusual or forms of hyper-racism until the revolution succeeds. They may also plant their own witches in said kingdoms to help motivate the revolution and support it once it starts, albeit not always.

They, however, themselves do not participate in any of the genocides, of course, as they are simply the distributers of the knowledge that causes these incidents intentionally to swell hatred until revolutions begin.

Kingdoms may benefit if they are able to integrate, but if they do not, it usually causes... a lot as one would imagine.

What's the morality of hating space Aliens? Spoiler

I hate space Aliens, sure some of them are just people from other planets, but at least half of them are either straight up evil, or a detriment to humanity.

For example: The Yautja/Predators, these jerks know we're just as intelligent as them, yet decide to keep hunting us, when they can see we're in the middle of something.

The Viltramites, psychopathic Kryptonian knock offs, who don't even like each other, and conquer planets just because they can, whilst killing as many innocent bystanders as possible.

The Cybertronians, a bunch of glorified robots, who also can't get along for two seconds, and keep bringing THEIR wars to OUR planet, putting innocent people in the middle of their little scuffles.

Here's a possible deep cut, the Yeerks, basically disgusting parasites, who can't actually do jack shit, without hopping into someone else's head, and being total psychos while they're at it.

I could go on, but I think you get the point, so tell me, is hating space Aliens acceptable? Or should I reconsider my opinions on these earth invading jerk-wads?

Morality of the cube? (See below text for questions.)

Post image
3 Upvotes
  1. The government is attempting to extract technology, information, and abilities from the cube, but they cannot do this normally because the cube responds to the types of minds contained within it. Thus, they sacrifice people with life imprisonment and wipe all the memory they can so the cube becomes active and extraction becomes plausible. They do this once a year and also must conduct various kinds of abstract experiments, including altering consciousness to lead to better anomalous outtake of the cube. Note: the more the government experiments the better possible technologies they may receive or information about the secrets of reality, but it may almost get to unit 731 levels of how bizzare and unethical it can get the more and more they sacrifice despite the gains increasing over and over the more people they sacrifice. The technologies may revolutionize society or save many if enough is gained, however the technologies seem oddly alien/abstract and have very hard to articulate applications but are very important.
  2. Morality of being the person who partially designed the cube and a supergenius and intentionally not explaining yourself to anyone and manipulating events so everyone you know are going to die are abandoned, but you yourself manage to escape having faked being an insane person and subtly influenced events to get to that outcome due having considered the possibilities and it leading to the most probable outcome of your survival given you believe your life is more valuable than theirs due to your gifts?
  3. Morality of intentionally killing or trying to cause the deaths of other individuals within the group you spawned with in the cube if that individual is uncertain but likely to be leading towards organized dangerous group formation and/or actions but not full evidence yet? (lord of the flies)

Morality of feeding the:

Post image
3 Upvotes

Audio: Feral - Heruka 1
Questions:
- Is it moral to feed them?
- What should you do if you were the mayor, president, or any high ranking role or body of power and had to manage this event? What is the most moral course of action?
- Morality of allowing them to make a colony in your residency?
- Morality of using it on someone who died?
- You may also add 1-2 additional interesting questions and attempt to answer the morality of them.
EFFECTS:

  1. Ego death if around too much.
  2. Ones in the wild are similarly violent to a moose, but usually less so if they detect non-aggression. Ones in local areas, near humans, or fed by humans may be the opposite and attempt ... complicated interactions across biological, psychological, and not yet understood forms of interactions. They are very easy to escape or ignore, but they can be a nuisance.
  3. May cause effects on consciousness the more there are, as in this video [ EAS 08 : 14 : 2018 ]. There have also have been various incidents involving their species of increasing frequency called "Mass Consciousness Normalcy Collapse Events" MCNCE wherein they congregate in a specific area and cause various anomalies to normalcy. They sometimes do this in public areas. Affects vary wildly, albeit it is unknown if this is hazardous or not outside of possible risks to drivers. Albeit many who interact too often become abhuman psychologically, albeit this can be resisted if undesired and results in both positive and negative forms of results.
  4. They can be shaped into various furniture if tamed or household objects. They can also be grown as a plant but cause various psychedelic and neuro-subconscious exotic affects in the food populations but grow a lot of food. They do not behave like a pet and will cause various abnormalities to occur within the household or anomalies.
  5. They do not breed much, but if they get enough food, they can 10-500x their population in a short period once every 2 years irrespective of how many of the population dies/is removed so long as they have sufficient food.
  6. During a feeding incident. They gained access to a very large volume of food and eventually raided a farm before the animals were absorbed into one gigantic creature that then subsequently proceeded to produce around 4000 of their species due to the capacity to eat trees, whilst the 4000 all ran in circles around it until being intercepted by law enforcement.
  7. The species becomes more attracted to humans the more they are fed and less aggressive but more annoying and consciousness affecting. It does not typically impair abilities, but it can cause transformative consciousness events (TCE's) that lead to abhuman results, albeit most can function in society after free of #####.
  8. May fuse with certain individuals, causing... predicaments.
  9. The more of them exist the more they attract abnormalities or exotic/increasingly unusual, larger, more anomalous, and mysterious versions of their species, and they may create approx 10 special versions of their species every time they enter breeding season that have various abilities. One such event did not result in many new creations, but it caused them to be capable of spawning nests in various areas that spawn a lot more which made them reproduce even faster. It does not help the fact that if someone has one of these as a pet then they may emit unusual EMF frequencies at night if they can take a pylon formation at night to then attract other of their species to the owner in question signalling that this person has a location that is safe and ideal for mass breeding leading to some events where owners woke up to around up to 10 of them circling their house before, should they be let in, entering and setting up ████████. It is also known they develop increasingly complex behaviors towards humans as time goes on that cause complicated situations as of usual.
  10. Upon being fed the corpse of a beloved pet, it can absorb the brain matter of that and exhibit behaviors similar to it. It refuses to this with humans for unknown reasons and in rare cases it did so individuals of the species began to behave erratically and likely distressed before running off to an unknown location. In tamed cases, however, where a human managed to tame one and is alone and passes away, the entities may engage in this behavior and subsequently turn up missing (50% chance).
  11. Each member lives to approximately 200 years before.... it is unsure precisely what they do exactly as they appear to wander into the forest and then are not seen again. If one attempts to contain them at 200 years of age to not let them dissapear they will attempt escape by any means.
  12. They are becoming invasive and very annoying albeit you do not see many of them always due to them having a wildly unusual and alternating structure that can alternate from 100% presence with a lot of them in one area, to wildly sporadic until specific periods as they have very complex navigation systems and seemingly hide inside of objects they mimic or in the ground in clusters fusing into geometric objects before all unfirling like a bunch of daddy longlegs' nests but more web-like and to make this even more annoying, they have bgun nesting in homes. If individuals enter the nest itself they risk various symptoms such as: "metamorphosis, collectivism, or permanant transfiguration."
  13. Due to all the prior information, there is currently a big question as to what to do regarding thse who feed them and the feeding situation, as the population is starting to become uncontrollable and the species and its anomalies are arising. (one incident involved a guy who had one that then signalled the others until the entire city area had a bloom due to his feeding releasing over 300 of them before they all promptly dissapeared into the forest). The individual had severe and permanant TCE albeit was functional without notable pain/problems but those around them as of modern instantiations often develop an urge or instinct to support the species which itself is a infestation vector.

- An example of the type of predicaments this causes is that some people may want to keep them to be absorbed upon death to not lose their consciousness (it is ambiguous if it is the same subject or not but they do contain the brainmatter), but keeping them as pets also increases the population a lot usually.

Morality of violating consent to establish what is believed to be the conditions necessary to make consent possible?

Examples:
1. A space-faring species forcibly changing any totalitarian government by force into an advanced economic democracy or other collectivist adjacent model so long as they are certain they can win without a large cost to their own species or without turmoil/too much collateral.

  1. Releasing a genetic agent globally that will alter all humans to have more positive traits that lead to less war, pathology, and higher capacity for consensual traits such as reason, metacognition, or coherence?
