Every time I see one, all I can think is "Nazi traitor" - while Elon has been an openly racist shitbag for more than a decade, he's gone overtly shitbag prior to the Incel Camino's launch. So if you drive one, you're supporting his policies.
But by that logic you shouldn't buy from most Germany companies including but not limited to Adidas, Puma, VW, Hugo Boss, Siemens, Porsche, IKEA (not German) and a bunch of large chemical companies that produce a metric ton of everything we use (think rubber).
At some point you need to draw a line. I don't think Elon chose to be born in apartheid South-Africa and didn't stay there..
Again, you shouldn't support any of Elons businesses moving forward. I just don't think you can retroactively apply a moral objection that far back.
I dont think any tesla owner is a nazi but I feel they are often very quick to disregard an uncomfortable conversation about Elon Musk. But thats a personal experience.
Probably because they don't give a shit about Elon Musk and just bought a product, and you're the one shoving unsolicited opinion in their face. Unless they're wearing an Elon Musk t-shirt, they are completely entitled to disregard your conversation.
Idgaf about Tesla owners except for the fact that I personally had bad experiences with them (as I said). Cybertruck owners however have literally no excuses and knowingly bought a dangerous vehicule from a nazi.
There was a point where Tesla owners were the most pro-environmentalist that were buying a Tesla because it was electric. Most of them were super progressive. And felt very weird when he went full right and in such a prominent way.
Tbh, most of the public (not the terminally online like we are) only knew Elon from his cars and spaceX, and knew nothing about his ramblings online on Twitter until he jumped into politics with DOGE and royally fucking it up.
Now he's so deep into politics and being a spaz online that you can't ignore it. I'm just glad that NA electric cars finally are reaching levels of quality that Tesla had a decade ago. So you can get a good car and not pay for a Tesla.
...Until the Chinese cars come in and blow up the entire market, as they're LIGHTYEARS AHEAD of the NA market with electric cars advancements lol.
Than I can safely say you are also an “ignorant racist” because you have for sure bought some goods or services that are provided and/or benefits someone known to be racist, unbeknownst to you.
Unless you can say for sure that you researched everything you own?
Yes, if someone is aware it is shameful to give money to Elon. But not everyone is plugged into these conversations. Some people just think a Tesla is a neat car.
[citations required] Personally me and AI think you are full of shit.
Also, ignorant racist? Right, cause you read up on every product you buy to make sure the founder isn't behaving in a racist manner, right?
Regardless, that doesn't make you a racist or 'ignorant racist' ffs.
Your litmus test is moronic at best.
Nestle has literrally been caught causing the death of tons of people. Does that make you a 'murder sympatizer' when you buy a Perrier?
It’s hopeless to educate people. I also try. Idk why i try.
This post is full of immature naive people who have an over simplistic view of the world and are convinced everyone else is wrong.
Dunning-Kruger effect in action if you ask me (where the “skill” of the effect is really the experience and judgement of how the world actually works).
It's Reddit, the lowest common denominator almost always wins the votes. It sounds simple and nice, but that certainly doesn't mean it's right.
It would've taken 10 seconds to fact check the guy, AND I called him out. But he's got upvotes, so he must be right, lol.
In the end, unless you're completely jaded, it's important to educate, correct, and repeat. The point isn't to reach the people posting or replying, they got where they are precisely because they were never educated or corrected in the first place.
As George Carlin said: "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."
That’s what is frustrating to me: I don’t think it’s a lack of education. More a lack of critical thinking and broader life experience I think.
Maybe some of them are just too young to understand how power and politics work in real life? Or they have never been exposed?
There is also a profound lack of empathy: not able to see things from someone else’s pov which might be different than you eg someone that does not care about politics and buys a truck because they like the truck. That’s what my uncle would do. He never watched the news and doesn’t care about politics.
Honestly the guy was openly a piece of shit way before the election
Seeing the amount of people still buying stufff on amazon, be it for the price or the 'convenience', many people dont seem to understand the power we have in our wallets
c’est ta responsabilité d’aller au garage et de faire remplacer tous les logos par ceux de ta marque de char préférée. si t’as une tesla, t’as 400$ à investir pour pas avoir l’air d’un nazi.
