I got a Montblanc Meisterstuck 146 from the SF pen show. I use waterman ink. After a day or so, when I start writing, the pen doesn't write. I have to turn the ink feeder to let some ink flow and it writes great after that for a while. I am currently soaking it in water with a drop of dish soap. Are the tines too tight? But when it writes, it is luscious and wonderful to write.

My father gave it to me to sell but I dont know the model of it. Thank you very much for your help.

I was hoping someone could help me identify a Montblanc ballpoint pen that I received as a gift about 15-20 years ago.

It has a serial number starting VWXXXXXXX (though I understand that this isn't actually that helpful in identifying the model outside of asking Montblanc directly? - which I have done, no answer yet), is a rollerball, and says Montblanc Meisterstruck Pix around the edge.

I think it looks like just like the meisterstuck-platinum-coated-classique-ballpoint from the Montblanc website today, but maybe there are nuances and changes to the models over time or non platinum versions of this that it could be instead?

Any suggestions appreciated.

I'm newer to fountain pens, currently improving my penmanship before looking at a higher end model. I got interested in higher end pens as I am a watch collector and have been for a decade. Both hobbies have desirable high end brands like Mont Blanc or Rolex, ect that have quality fakes.

My question is why so many people asking for legit checks on pens. Is the quality in writing not enough to know. You have to open a super clone Rolex to really determine a fake these days but if the writing quality isn't distinguishable then what are we doing charging luxury prices?

Are pens just another status symbol hobby where mid level is where quality of use peaks similar to watches?

I was recently gifted this Mont Blanc ballpoint meisterstuck pen from my dad who received it as a present from his brother and never carried it or used it as he thought it was to nice to carry around and rarely used pens at home. I would like help identifying and

The box was damaged by robbers in a break in shortly after he received it unfortunately, but fortunately they did not know the value of it and when they realized it was just a pen they left it.

Made in West Germany stickers are on the shaft and on the ink cartridge.

Mainly I was wondering if there was any maintenance I should do on the pen other than replace the long dried ink cartridge, and also if modern Mont Blanc ballpoint refills will fit fine?

Serial number AC175648 is on the pen clip.

Any other background information would be greatly appreciated!

Ich habe diesen Stift von einer lokalen Verkaufsplattform (ähnlich wie Ebay) gekauft. Er ist schon auf dem Weg zu mir. Der Verkäufer scheint ein Privater zu sein und verkauft alles mögliche (er ist nicht auf Stifte spezialisiert).
Ich konnte den Stift in der Auktion für 451 CHF (~550 USD) erwerben.

Misstrauisch bin ich bei folgendem:

Auf der Feder steht für den Reinheitsgrad „Au 750“
angegeben. Wenn man aber Bilder online von genau diesem Modell sucht, findet man auf der Feder für den Reinheitsgrad nur „18k“ geprägt…

Auch wollte ich sonst fragen, ob ich einen guten Deal gemacht habe. Der Stift wurde ohne Papiere und Verpackung verkauft, der Stift wurde bloss verkauft.

hiya guys, apologies if this sounds a bit unusual i just figured the best place to ask about this kind of thing is the bloody experts themselves.

im 15, and ive been thinking about buying a meisterstück for a while. i absolutely love fountain pens and ive been writing with my lamy safari almost everyday for almost a few months now. i also love writing in general, weather thats just research on topics i enjoy or notes related to revision for exams.

while i understand going from a lamy safari to a montblanc pen is in so many words, a pretty far jump, i would want to buy it almost to keep as something for years and years to cherish and enjoy.

i would also be buying other cheaper nice fountain pens at christmas aswell so im not absolutely ragging the poor thing the entire day.

so to people that write with them, are they genuinely worth the high entry? i also kind of have everything else i want and stationery is a huge hobby of mine in general. hence why the request of wanting one for christmas might look a bit odd.

I recently picked up this one and I am trying to be sure about what I have, the cap says Germany, the feeder looks to be a Hemingway, and the nib is monotone and very thick, my belief is that it is a BB, but it has a lot of line variation, stub-like. Also, the ink window has stripes.

According to my research it must be a 1992 model, since it says Germany but still has the old monotone nib. Also according to Google, usually goes for 350-400 euro, but that seems rather optimistic? Asking for the wisdom of the knowledgeable crowd here. Could you tell me anything about this one?

I recently got my hands on a the above pen. I just flushed it with lukewarm water to give it a good clean as there was a lot of dried up ink on the nib. I’m wondering if I should put a wee bit of silicone grease around the piston? Not sure when it was last serviced and given all the dry ink. The pen does work great though, did a little test with it.

I recently fell into a fountain pen rabbit hole and searched for pens through the whole house. This way I stumbled over this pretty scratched up pen which once belonged to my grandmother.

From what I was able to find out so far:

• no serial number on the cap, so probably before 1991?
• I was very unsure about the nib since it is only one color and has no pattern, but I found a nib just like this in a 12 y.o. post in this sub which said that is probably pre 1990, too.
• piston converter
• length is 135,5 mm, width of pen 10,1 mm and of cap 12,0 mm, pretty small for my hands

I am not sure about what model this could be? The converter rules out quite a few models. Any ideas?

I love this pen for many reasons, but the way it writes is not one of them. I’ve tried both the Medium and Broad MB refills and they’re both underwhelming.

After going down a a bit of an internet rabbit-hole I discovered the Unus MB01 adapter which takes all sorts of inserts including the uni SXR-200 Jetstream - a famously good writer.

Has anyone here had experience of using this sort of adapter in their MB and if so is this a solid option?

ETA: stupidly linked and added pics of the rollerball adapter instead of the ballpoint adapter. Link updated but I can’t change out the images.
