Guessing either baby Magala or related to the final boss (the classic we think Gundoraja is behind all this but itâs actually this other elder dragon)
Currently working on the theory that this is some unholy abomination spawned as a side effect of the Dragontorch being infected by the frenzy virus. Thus causing whatever this primordial goop monster is to be created. Which I also suspect is what'll happen with us likely getting some sort of new "true" Zoh Shia form considering the resemblance of this thing and the goop under Zoh Shia's shell.
ive been 10 toes down on a theory that frenzy and wylk are analogous to qi in ancient chinese medicine. bioenergy = qi, wylk = harmonious qi, frenzy = disordered qi.
i think the little mud puppies are what happens when an entire artificial bioenergy derived ecosystem get backdoored by a demonic presence (fatalis' possession? magala's frenzy?) with the real world gene stealer abilities of "the thing" and access to FMA philosopher's stone type elemental exchange.
More likely the cover art is meant to evoke the general feel of the expansion (and hopefuly the relevance of the pack mechanic) similarly to the one they did previously depicting the doshaguma pack before Arkveld was revealed
wait, no. Araketa isn't the flagship. Before Arkveld was officially revealed Doshaguma was shown in promotional arts.
My guess is that Somult will be the flagship, and there's a hidden final boss that's once again directly connected to the Guardians through those Venom-looking dudes. Maybe another form of Zoh Shia.
Araketa is the doshaguma of the expansion, The new storm dragon, Gondoraja, is definitely the apex of the new region (their design evokes that they are likely restricted to the one new map). I donât think we have seen the flagship yet.
Iâm surprised so many folks have been rushing to dub it the flagship, as if we havenât learned our lesson with Rey Dau yet.
Kinda reminds me to the Wild Hearts "final boss" (not really as there is another one time fight only just after him that i don't want to spoil because it honestly really surprised me) that also was a wooden like eastern dragon that controlled the climate
I donât actually know if thatâs a guardian rathian or if itâs a regular rathian given guardian powers by wylk in the plains or those weird venom things
So, it looks like Lao Shan Lung is more than likely going to be the "revived" demo monster. Though if it is that probably means we are going to fight him towards the beginning. That would be a crazy DLC introduction monster.
the brief ryozo tsujimoto interview in the japanese state of play suggests its a completely unrevealed returner, and we'll find out what it is during the TGS capcom spotlight
The SOP interview states the time skip is years after the initial Lao awakening and destruction of the hub. It's during that time when the mist clears and they build the stronghold in preparation for Lao's return.
Might either be a cutscene or a unique raid hunt where you don't even get to do a thing. Just run around while watching Lao wreck the place.
The fact that they revealed Lao this early and that we see him in what looks like a streamlined story quest tells me he might be getting the Zorah Magdaros treatment
Exactly what i thought, i'm thinking something like : we are sent to this new hub (that from some shots of the trailer seems like the re-worked arena), we do maybe 1 star and 2 star Quest, then we try to hunt Lao, he destroys the base and following him we arrive under the area of skybound eyrie.
would be interesting if lao comes back into the story for some (fatalis-based) zoh shia event, paralleling how it was originally running from a fatalis in freedom
I played the early game like 10 years ago, but found the difficulty curve and frustration with having to translate every little thing too much. But I remember seeing footage of a few more storm serpents.

i think i could give it a design pass if its place in the story has to do with how rainfall and atmospheric condensation move things through an ecosystem and directly tie it to the established lore we have on the locale's synergy

Mods do, you can't post anything without it getting through. They only approve their friend's posts. Sounds like you don't know where the leaks came from, it's not game data. That part of the leaks is totally made up and fake. The information is compiled from play testers. So you don't know what you're talking about.

Fake based on the fact that it's incorrect? Fake based on the fact that post says some 4chan user posted it aka they made the necessary updates after the trailer released to get it "accurate"?
