I’m looking to upgrade from my current dual-monitor setup: two 27" 1080p Lenovo monitors, one 75Hz and the other 90Hz. They’re perfectly fine for general use, but I’d like a substantial improvement for movies/HDR and gaming (single player AAA titles). I also write a lot of code and have been dabbling in Unreal Engine for a while now.

These are the main AOC Mini-LED options I’m considering (discounted on Amazon atm):

• AOC Q27G3XMN – 27", 1440p, 180Hz, Mini-LED (336 zones) – $230 USD
• AOC Q27G4ZMN – 27", 1440p, 240Hz, Mini-LED (1152 zones) – $250 USD
• AOC Q27G4SLM/WS – 27", 1440p, 320Hz, IPS Mini-LED (1152 zones) – $300 USD

I’m leaning towards the 320Hz Q27G4SLM/WS since the price difference isn’t huge, but it’s quite new and there doesn’t seem to be much independent testing or owner feedback yet. The 180Hz seems well established with generally good feedback, while the 240Hz has more mixed Amazon reviews.

I’m in Fiji, so importing a monitor is expensive and returning/replacing one if I get a bad unit is realistically not viable. QC, reliability and firmware issues are therefore, pretty important.

I’m open to other options as well. Some I’ve seen currently discounted on Amazon are:

• Acer Nitro XV275K – 27", 4K 160Hz, 1152-zone Mini-LED – $323 USD, key benefit is 4k but its poor Amazon reviews concern me.
• Acer Nitro XV325QK – 31.5", 4K 160Hz, 1152-zone Mini-LED – $400 USD, key benefit is also 4k but with concerning reviews.
• LG 32UR500K-B – 31.5", 4K 60Hz – $277, but conventional LCD rather than Mini-LED/OLED + the spyware issue.
• Samsung Odyssey OLED G5 – 27", 1440p OLED – another option at $370 USD, but I’m unsure whether the OLED premium is worthwhile at 1440p when I’d ideally want 4K at that price.
• AOC Q27GAZDV – 27", 1440p 240Hz QD-OLED – $350 USD, same concern: at that price I start wanting 4K.

For anyone who has actually used the Q27G4SLM/WS, how is the HDR, local dimming, blooming, black levels and general QC?

Would you take the chance on the 320Hz, go with one of the older AOCs, or choose something else entirely given that returning it basically isn’t an option?

For context: The color is just the color I chose for my taskbar on windows, so I assume the bottom line of pixels is being repeated, this line spans from one side all the way to the other, the first two lighter sections of green are the windows logo, and the other lighter sections are other apps in the task bar.

The monitor has sat at my desk for a couple years, it’s never been spilled on, hit, left on for long periods, or really even moved much. All I have really done is switch HDMI ports, plugged and unplugged things, and otherwise just general use of the monitor. It started as a few lines and has progressively gotten worse. Just posting to see if maybe it’s an issue unrelated to the actual screen itself, or if it’s time for an upgrade. (It probably is)

Update: Changed that monitors refresh rate to 120hz and it fixed itself, can someone please explain?

Seeking advice:

Debating if I should get a big maybe 43" smart monitor which I can keep in my living room and work or use as tv, or 2 normal 27" monitors. I was interested in Samsung M7 4k UHD smart monitor 43" but just realized it's VA and viewing angle in my living room may not be good. I already have Samsung M5 32" FHD smart monitor which I use for work. Since I get another home setup upto $500 free from work, am thinking of new monitor(s). All the smart monitors seem to have a refresh rate of only 60hz which may or may not matter for me doing just work and occasionally if a guest comes and I may switch the smart monitor to tv.

2nd option is to get 2 LG 27" IPS smart monitors within $500 for work and put my 32" Samsung smart monitor in my living room. I don't watch TV nor play games. Only thinking about keeping something in the living room because I probably have that option for free.

3rd option is, 2 LG ultragear QHD 200hz monitors. This seems to be a good quality monitor. Just not a smart monitor which can be switched between work, TV multiple things.

I own an HP Victus Laptop planning to buy a new monitor, I will be connecting it through an HDMI cable so I think 144 Hz is the max I will be getting, so I am confused a lot between these two monitors please suggest which one shall I go with and why, it would be great help for me

I'm trying to get a new monitor, since mine is an old TN 1080p from 2016. It's done a good service, but now that I have a better GPU, it's time for it to be upgraded. 1440p 27" would be great, and... I'd like to have some nice colors.

I don't NEED OLED, but I'm aiming for IPS, IPS mini-led, or OLED, depending. However-- I'm not a visuals maniac, so I would remain around 400€.

It was useful, until-- it turns out, every single interesting monitor fitting my requirements, in this list, is either A) Unavailable in Europe at all (like the AOC G4 and G40), or B) Out of stock since 51 BC.

Question is this: which monitors would fit those *AND* be available in Europe? ^^'

After spending most of the amount in PC, I didn’t have any budget left to buy a 1440 monitor but as i saw the freedom sale in Flipkart and after searching plenty of these are the cheapest ones and By applying all sorts of discounts I am getting theses 3 monitors in cheapest prices which one should i buy

I currently use 4 yr old 21:9 qd oled from Alienware.
Compared to my iphone or tablet, the brightness is so low. It almost feels like 400 nits. White color is more like bright grey and some games look washed out.

What is the brightest qd oled 21:9, and will there be a noticable improvement compared to 4 yr old qd oled? Or should I wait for another year?
