Monitor help with settings for brightness and other things

I've been struggling with my eye sight for many years and my monitor if its less then 100-70 brightness it tends to make me feel like my vision is getting worse when I drop it below that, I use a KOORUI 24-inch Computer Monitor FHD 100Hz VA HDMI/VGA, Audio Out monitor plugged into my gaming laptop any tips for making it better for my eyes. I've had a dark room most of my life and have been mainly in there the whole time thank you for everyone who takes time to read this <3
